  • All bristles were nylon-ish material. All plastic no metal. The brushes were held by thin metal wire but so thin it was like throwing a hotdogs down a hallway.

  • Cheese and rice theres a lot of responses jumping to accusations of people too lazy but I've never heard someone too lazy to clean a phone port for $1000 savings.

100% of the people im surrounded by in my family/friends would be to afraid of breaking it beyond trade in value towards the new phone. My case was extreme but since the screens got better id have to guess charging issues is up there for one of the biggest reasons people trade their phones in.

  • ~I mean I cant speak for the fancy new oil-less compressors but dont you lubricate your compressor and run oil thru the lines to protect your tools and prevent broken airlines?~

~Plus the chance of forgetting to lower the psi before spraying the port cuz I've never done that ever before 🤣 idk man, id prolly test it first on an old broken screen phones before I started blasting phone holes lol.~

Ohhhhhhh shit your talking about the aerosol cans of compressed air hahahaha fuck im an idiot lol

  • My phone is a Galaxy Z-Fold5, not new but not old enough for me to replace since the Fold7 just shipped.

Was hell bent sure the issue causing my phone to begin not accepting charging cables* was something Samsung was doing with their software updates. (*It charged fine with contactless chargers if youre ok with it taking 10-14 hours to charge)

It was too much of a coincidence that the phone charged 100% fine with any and all cables. Download a software update (not android update, this was samsung delivered update) phone doesnt charge with a cable after that for 2-3 weeks. Im T1Diabetic who uses wifi connected glucose monitor, so it fuckin drains battery juice 24/7 with very little setting controls to mitigate it. So I spent 2-3 weeks battling with it to charge on charging pads.

Didn't change a thing with what I was doing and BAM another Samsung update, weirdly close to the last update and fuck me running if the phone didnt start charging very very tenderly with charging cables again.

Eventually figured fuck it, if its hard to do the phone is broke if its easy enough to do then maybe it will help and bought a pack of adhesive rubber type C port plugs from Amazon that came with a super cheap cleaning kit. It wasnt anything special. It came with the picture pointed and spaded q-tips, a flexible wire brush, then I used my own zip tie that I shaped, a sim card tool and a cloth for cleaning glasses. AND WENT TO FUCKING TOWN.

Everytime you plug in your charger to your phone, any dust that is in there is getting buttfucked into the back of the phone's charging port like its a muzzleloaded gunpowder. Lol a bit hyperbplic but you get the point.

Finished cleaning the port. Plugged it in. First fuckin try, no fighting it, no switching chargers, no "charging but not fast charging" bullshit, no more voids in guessing my blood sugar, no more watching tv holding charger into phone. AND $1,000+ THAT IS STILL IN MY FUCKING ACCOUNT.

I gotta assume this is the #1 driver for phones needing to be replaced ever since the screens stopped shattering everytime you sneezed. The adhesive rubber plug is amazing. It is hardly noticeable and stays in the charging port even with my opening and closing of screens. It never pops out.

Honestly the smartest $10 I think I may have ever spent.

TLDR: Phone not charging? Buy $10 type C cleaning kit from amazon, watch 5min video on tips for cleaning, clean charging port for night and day results. Not difficult, very hard to fuck up your phone unless you jackhammer the port cleaning it. Saves you the cost of a new phone.

And obviously this isnt a fix all for all charging issues.

  • I mean south park has been going in hard on Trump jokes. They show his needle dick every episode lol.

  • Maybe for where you live but not for my neighborhood.

  • Why is that obvious?

  • 1st search results is acronymfinder with 116 results for DL. Fuck off lol

  • Heres my 37 year old adhd fueled emoloyment experience with no higher education. Not sure what the fuck DL is but it gives insight to your intelligence for assuming anyone will know what the fuck DL is so the list is adjusted accordingly. Take tons of adderall so my work ethic is amphetamine driven and it usually took 3 to 5 years to go from zero experience to hitting a ceiling. Only career paths I didnt progress all the way thru is nursing but gave example of path every nurse I know took who made a career out of it amd advanced their education. Each degree level comes with massive pay increase opportunities. The highest ceilings are Nursing, Procurement and IT. The most secure single certification lifelong careers Linesmen and Machinist. Fastest career path to the grave or being/feeling like youre famous: chef.

Machinist: 3 month certification class. Employers often pay for the class if you agree to work for them on completion.

CNA: 3 month cert. Again, enployers often cover course costs. Good experience towards, which employers also usually offer tuition reimbursement, nursing degrees which have very high ceilings d3pending on type of nursing degree you have. Can go for 2 years, work, need more money, go for 2 more years, work for more money, need more money, go to school for 2 more years, work for more money... Basically all the way from LPN up to Nurse Practitioner who are basically doctors.

Linesman: 2 year degree. Union. Work for local electrical department with government pension/benefits.

IT certs from Cysco: cheap, free courses available, most places will accept in place of degree fields without paying outrageous tuition for degree.

Classically trained chef: apply to any metropolitan restaurant, work your way up from dishwasher to sous chef with no prior education or experience. Must be able to handle high stress high demand work environment. Must be extremely competitive and good at doing drugs and drinking.

Procurement: basic understanding of relevant software and commercial purchasing. Starting employment usually begins with incoming sales and processing orders.

  • 100% first thought that came to mind was CNA (Certified Nursing Aid) for an alzheimer/dementia unit before seeing rhey got summers off.

  • Ive done both but always go to the first interview. It all depends on how the interview goes. If they seem desperate for help and seem to have high hopes they found their guy, ill flat out tell them that I will be allowing my current employer to match their offer. Thats only happened a couple times over the 5 times I've done this. I try to bring no less than 3 offers to the table for my employer to match. So even some of the shittiest companies I had zero intentions of committing to, will still be used.

The two biggest cards in my deck tho, in my opinion, are 1. That most people who work with me know that I dont balk at much. If I say im guna do something, I make sure I do everything in my power to make sure it happens. 2. Im 37 year old male unmarried and childless, my risk management allowance is muuuuuuuuuch wider than most people I compete with on the job market. If my current employer doesnt match someday, then I have no problem jumping ship and changing course.

The key is that your employer knows you would jump ship if it comes down to it. At rhe same time, you need to know what your value is for your employer and the cost they will pay to train ypur replacement so they know they aren't only retaining a valuable asset of their company bit theyre doing it at a lower operating cost than it will cost them to train someone compleyely new to get them up to your current work load.

  • Before every 3rd annual review I set out getting competitive wages from competitors to bring to my review for my current employer to match or else I accept the competing offer and my current employer can use my annual review as my 2 week notice.

Has worked 5 out of 5 times accross 3 different companies over my 20 year work span.

  • There are always things people want to tell to another person(s) that when spoken either thru inner dialog or outloud, will always feel like they're so easy to say or hear. The title of this post is a perfect exa.ple of what im trying to write avout in this comment.

I stared at that title for waaaaay too long in both the front page feed interface as well in this open comment section interface before my brain stopped either having a stroke or stopped lagg g g ing so fucking hard before I under stood why it was saying. I didnt really have a noticeablr problem. Im being dramatic but it definitely a blink or two to get thru reading the words individually, then right away read back thru looking for common word groupings. Then pulled phone back looked at the sentence as a whole beforeitfinallyclickedand****i****Ifeltsoooooostupid

  • What are you calling "this generation"? Mellenials are the largest generation and span from like late 20's to 40ish. Zoomers are graduating and entering the workforce. The generation younger than gen z (idk what their name is) are school aged and often the driving force behind what is and ist popular.

As a mellenial who considers RATM, Nirvana and 2pac as more gen x derived, id say the whole underground skateboard/snowboarding rap scene was the closest to those 3 bands when it comes to originality and music with a message. Off the top of my head I can think of Brother Ali, Atmosphere, Immortal Technique, Coremega, Jedi Mind Tricks

Less underground but still goats would be Nas, J.Cole, Eminem, Mac Miller, Jay Z. You cant name an artist more original than Lil Wayne with his whole never writing a single song down and saying whatever comes out of his mouth in the booth gets recorded.

As for bands, id go with, System of a Down, Jack White/White Stripes/Raconteurs/whatever other side projects Jack White has in the works, Green Day, American Idiot was pure blooded mellenial rebellion eventhough I would put them half in gen X (Dookie) and half in mellenial bucket (American Idiot). I was never an emo fan but My Chemical Romance's Black Parade album is one of the best rock opera albums ever released.

If you are using Limp Biscuit as an example of taking over the radio kind of popularity then id have to go towards country artists like Swift, Toby Kieth, Eric Church etc. Country went from being the red headed bastard of all music genres to becoming the most widely listened to genre accross all demographics in less than a decade.

Notable mentions that didnt make the list for near misses or for being too generationally ambiguous:

    • Beyonce
    • Foo Fighters
    • No Doubt
    • Sublime (even tho chronologically 100% gen x but I dont know a single peer in the mellenial gen that didnt have ever sublime album on hand with one cd always playing round the clock)
    • ska bands like Pepper, Butthole Surfers, O.A.R., Badfish
    • Red Hot Chilli Peppers
    • Johnny Cash (his late in life album that he remade Hurt by NIN is arguably some of his best work)
    • Blink 182
    • the whole catalog from all the Dipset artists
    • Outkast
    • DMX
    • Lupe Fiasco
    • Common
    • Mos Def
    • hate him or love him you cant deny his influence on the entire music scene... Kanye "Benjamin Franklin didnt win 21 Grammys" West

I feel like this is a question entire music history courses are built off of. Especially being a mellenial, myself. All the generations before us could count music genres on one hand with subgenres not even a thing yet. And maybe im just old but I feel like the generation that has followed so far has completely checked out on making new music. I 100% admit I dont count EDM as meeting any definable characteristic of musical art. I mean I guess gen Z can have credit for the mellenial's left over hip hop evolution with Kendrick, Chance, and .... idk i guess mumble rap. I even looked up genZ musical artists and didnt find much else. Which isnt to say its bad but I certainly wouldn't include it with the names being tossed around in my main comment to the question cuz they could all battle for a spot on music's mount Rushmore of music lol.

Edit: I know im missing some big names but im not guna edit my list everytime kne pops in my head lol

  • Got any examples of the videos you are referring too?

  • Being given an anesthetic that should put you out for an operation but only immobilizes you and you remain cognizant thru out the operation feeling everything being done.

Kinda happened to me in middle school when I broke my arm and they gave me anesthetics to knock me out so they could re-set my ulna and radius but half way thru i wake up to my arm in 5 Chinese finger trap-like device to hold my arm up and a strap across my bicep with weights on it weighing my arm down and 2 doctor's trying to push my bones back in line.
