  • Too soon lol

  • I know there's pressure a pressure difference but it's not delta p

  • Just moved to TX so gotta learn the local flora and fungi.

  • That's where I originally got the idea years back. I'm like "cavemen seemed to manage DIY brain surgery pretty well, can't be that hard"

Then again, the ancient patients could have "survived" but suffer extensive brain damage, we don't really know.

  • I know the brain doesn't have nociceptors, but the surrounding cavity surely does, so theoretically wouldn't a positive pressure change put strain on those receptors?

  • Oh dont worry, this is all purely speculative.

The pain is almost always centered right behind and above the eyeballs. Even when first waking up or not actively straining eyes, usually accompanied by barometric shift.

It's not like ocular migraines because it doesn't give any visual flashing or anything like you'd associate with usually.

It's likely my sleeping, switched to shkikifuton & tatami to try and counteract backpain from soft matresses, but my neck seems to suffer instead.

  • I think a video essay on this was what originally put the thought in my head years ago

  • ^This^ The joint pain is definitely inflammation during cabin pressurization, but if it is severe enough it could also impact the brains circulation and lead to an aneurysm.

  • For reference this is them on a business card.

  • I had the same partner at my last workplace. Always showed up on the top of the monitor when I'd arrive in the morning!

  • Yes, shrubberies are my trade -- I am a shrubber. My name is Roger the Shrubber. I arrange, design, and sell shrubberies.

  • Who is this "weird" you all are referring to?

  • Do it. Dad used to have essentially a replica of Neil Pearts setup, while cool as he'll to look at, it's a pain in the ass to maintain and it annoys the shit out of anyone nearby.

Once he made the switch 10 years ago to a Roland mesh E Kit, the entire houses demeanor relaxed. Plus it doesn't take up an entire room, and you can swap sounds on the fly.

Real kits are nice for live or jamming out sometimes, but you'll get infinite more use out of the Ekit

  • Worked for a company that was entirely JWs, some of the most genuinely nice people I ever met, but knowing the whole process behind the scenes and how constrictive the lifestyle is, it was always off putting.

I was never witnessed to other than just general inquiry to get to know me in passing by coworkers. But their doctrine basically states that if I'm not a JW, I'm a non-person. I don't know how many of them believe it, but still.

They all have designated zones to do their "service" so if you refuse they'll still come back because they believe their ticket into heaven is to convince you what they say is true.

If anyone else who reads this ever has problems with them coming to their door, best way to get them to take you off their list is say "I've already been excommunicated from another kingdom hall in (insert town from 2hr+ away)"

  • Totally fine, work is work, you decide what you want to do with your life and if that fills the gap more power to you.

We need more regulation though, like Amsterdam where if you're working you have to get weekly check ups, and psychological counseling should be freely available.

Sex work is a good industry but it also harbors trafficking which needs to be cracked down on hard.

  • This is why I carry around a 80" flat-screen.

  • Last I was playing around with it (about 2 years ago) there were at least 20 stable games running, even 360 ones

  • Was literally going to ask this same question last week. Past three employers are expecting 8-5 m-f but only pay 40 hours.

I've just been coming in at 6 before the boss to look like a hardworking then leave at 2 so I only work what I'm paid.

  • Man you could generate so many poems by God on that bad boy
