  • I was like 8 or 9 and my family was on a weekend trip up the St John's River on our neighbor's cabin cruiser, I got to try a sip of the neighbor's strawberry daiquiri before she made a virgin one for me.

    Seems like I'm the odd one actually enjoying my first taste of alcohol. Fortunately I never became a heavy drinker even if I did develop a wider taste in alcohol as an adult.

  • I'm mildly proud of the fact that the Mini Apple has a more active community than the Big Apple, lol.

    [email protected], and I'm like half of that activity and it's pretty dead. Make it, post, and maybe you'll have more luck, but local communities are tough given the small userbase.

    (We also have a Democratic Socialist running for mayor, good luck to both Mamdani and Fateh!)

  • I've had pet mice, they're pretty neat too - the less timid ones can actually be trained to do tricks and some of them were trained to go back to their cage if they had to pee while out. They're smarter than people give them credit for, they're as smart as the dumbest rats they're just a lot smaller so they're more afraid of things.

    Whereas the hamsters my friends had when I was a kid were basically all bitey assholes, but they were definitely poorly socialized.

  • Creeps are a problem for more than just women. I downloaded Scruff, a gay dating app, a few weeks ago and the very first interaction I had on there was a guy starting off the interaction asking about my genitals (🚩, but I tactfully disclose being trans in my profile...) and immediately after I explained he asked for pictures. And my profile says I don't do pics.

    Some men just suck.
