  • Sled Storm. I picked it up again recently and it's still a lot of fun. The racing is competent but probably nothing exceptional, although apparently it was one of the first snowmobile racing games so maybe it doesn't belong on this list? The tracks aren't super open, they're more like Mario Kart tracks with shortcuts which my family always liked, you couldn't really get lost. I played so much couch co-op with my family in that game.

10/10 soundtrack though, it introduced me to Rob Zombie's music as a kid. (Funny story, the only Rob Zombie film I've ever seen was the Devil's Rejects in a Waffle House in rural Florida at 3am on an employees' shitty laptop.)

  • Sure, but I wouldn't expect an elderly user to be one of the people with the natural ability to nuke their OS.

I've daily driven Bazzite, an immutable distro, since July, and I haven't seen the kind of Flatpak issues they talk about - or frankly any major issues, this whole experience has been way easier than Windows ever was with updates (it took me a few minutes to figure out Proton and Heroic launcher though). I didn't know about the new Fedora update until I booted up and my lock screen was different. My experience is that Bazzite (and likely all of the other uBlue Fedoras) is fantastic and absolutely ready now.

That said, nothing is more stable than something like Debian. Unless you've got some hardcore gamer grandma I think the immutable distros are a solution to a problem not present in OPs hypothetical.

  • That can kinda be arranged, actually. Something that came up during one of Caitlin Doughty's videos is a nature preserve type place in Florida that they protect by burying people there to decompose naturally. I'm not going to look for more info about this on Christmas though, lol.

  • Someone tag the vegan atheist Lemming who uses Arch, btw.

  • MA is a 44-year-old man presenting to the emergency room, unconscious.

  • Stardew Valley should be lightweight enough, it runs fine on my old-ish Kindle Fire.

Gubbins is a fun word game and a one time payment to unlock the ability to play more than once a day but it kinda chugs on the tablet. It's free to try it at least.

  • Initially, it depends on the state, afaik eventually you'll need some kind of teaching degree or the like, but a lot of states are so desperate for math and science teachers they will let you teach with just a subject area degree (but a lot of those states are awful to teach in, like Florida).

  • I regret not growing up in a Dr Bronners household.

  • I think you get your pick of BSDs.

  • I've gotten a whiff of the inside of a friend's fur suit once. We lived in Florida and those suits are incredibly difficult to clean. It was an unpleasant experience.

  • Bazzite is fantastic and it's what I'm running on my gaming laptop, but I've always wondered why you would want to put it on a Steam Deck? Is it for the people who use it as a laptop replacement?

  • They've been saying that for the past 25-50 years, there's more fossil fuels to be had, they're just increasingly more difficult to reach (until the permafrost melts...)

It's good we're shifting to renewables, but we could continue our bullshit for the foreseeable future.

  • I will point out that Governor Walz is also an example of a politician who clearly didn't enrich his bank account during his time in office (although there's plenty of things to criticize him for, that's not one of them), but yeah I think Walz is largely done on the national stage, he's also not corrupt enough to run for president.
