it's especially a big deal when it comes to battle passes in video games. you know how many people bend over backwards to justify fortnite gatekeeping most everything? especially the stuff that's not time gated but just doesn't appear in the shop too often. Then they throw a hissy fit when someone buys it
the obvious first solution is to condemn fomo practices, but in the fortnite case, the devs would rather go bankrupt and die
my first thought with this plan is the exact same thought I have when one of those "buy gold" commercials comes on and the old person be like "it's tangible, I can hold it in my hand, it's not sitting in a bank." That only helps the person breaking into your house. So if you gave EVERYONE a little bit of gold, people would know others have this gold, and if the wrong person finds that out they're gonna break into houses getting that gold.
bold of you to assume he thoroughly thinks out half his comments. hell, one time he proposed banning guns to stop school shootings, which republicans said democrats would do as a reason to vote red for years, and every trump-supporting gun owner was down bad for it. but it never happened
I've wanted to die for like 20 years now, and came close 5 times (only one was at my own hand). If the world let me I wouldn't be here. So no, it really wasn't
I only do it when I wanna screenshot something and see it has 70, 43, or 421 upvotes. Or if I'm sending it to a friend who has a lucky number and my comment is one vote higher
sad thing is that's exactly what they're doing. Schumer said at the beginning of the term that the dems were gonna comply with everything, and when everyone called them and told them to grow a spine, schumer whined about how people wanted him to do something
on reddit if you search by new, you may be like the only commenter ever on a post, and if you go to posts with whole ass discussions, your post may not be visible unless you say something that pisses half the people off.
on lemmy more often than not people search by new, so posts and comments don't just die instantly. conversing generally feels better when you aren't late and others also converse
I think that's more mastodon's flawed search than anything. Cause it'll only look for the specific term, so if someone don't use Kendrick's full name, it's not gonna show up. Or if you look by tag, you won't see much anything cause no one tags half their stuff
Ai by definition scrapes up data from everywhere left and right for its dataset. If Elon is gonna fuck around a lot during his great replacement tour, there's gonna be a lot of data in these banks with his name on it
