  • A single one. Anonymity makes it slower for sure. Can't tell you the global max, because I don't know. If you trust your vpn to not log stuff or to sell you out, then that will always be faster.

Speed is not a problem for me, but everyone's different.

  • “In metric, one milliliter of water occupies one cubic centimeter, weighs one gram, and requires one calorie of energy to heat up by one degree centigrade—which is 1 percent of the difference between its freezing point and its boiling point. An amount of hydrogen weighing the same amount has exactly one mole of atoms in it. Whereas in the American system, the answer to ‘How much energy does it take to boil a room-temperature gallon of water?’ is ‘Go fuck yourself,’ because you can’t directly relate any of those quantities.” ― Josh Bazell, Wild Thing

  • Not for a Finn. 🤣

  • Typically around 500kBps I'd say. I've seen speeds in the MBps too, but that's rare.

  • It's directly connected to the pi.

I don't think it's the signal though since one of the devices that disconnects is in the same room. No more than a meter apart, and another device is just on the other side of a wall.

Is there some other kind of magic happening when you use an extension?

  • Depends on where you live, doesn't it? It could be illegal not to remove hate speech.

  • That is weird. Both are nice though, at least for a brief visit.

  • I very much enjoy to travel. When I visit I want to be part of the country, culture, life, not put up in a hotel complex that could have been put anywhere in the world because they all look the same. What's the point of visiting a country if all you ever see is the pool and the bar?

  • I'm sorry you were taken out against your will. I for one would welcome the UK back into the EU, but some reform would be required I think. I don't fancy a second brexit.

  • There's an i2p lemmy community, feel free to join us there. i2p

  • Seems to be doing a good job. Around 3TB transferred over the last 50+ days. I'm happy that I don't have a metered connection.

  • I run an I2P instance and I'm starting to look at Plex. I wonder if those can be combined.

  • What makes it different is that I2P uses something called garlic routing to anonymize you and everyone participating in the swarm. So nobody can tell what you're downloading, except those in the same swarm, but they can't tell who you are because your id in the swarm isn't connected to your IP-address.

Other than that it's pretty much normal torrenting. Many clients such as BiglyBT already support I2P.

  • "Public Service Announcement", sorry, I thought that was a common shorthand.

  • With all this fame I can probably quit my job and become a full time influencer.
