  • Wayland is pretty darn great nowadays, hell I'm running KDE and got HDR on my desktop; haven't had any odd goings on since 2023 (though nvidia is still meh)

  • yea, preserving deviantart is not a focus like anywhere as far as I know, and hopefully the artist themselves do, but it's vague. It does match with how historically art has usually been a big job to try and preserve once the artist is dead.

    For preserving music (since you mention bandcamp) I recommend supporting your local library; an here's a list of some US music libraries. https://www.american-music.org/page/Libraries

    Most nations do have some type of music archive as well, and it's not like software which faces legal issues for historical preservation.

  • i mean, for you to spend "half your life" in the command line, you'd have to be on a quite terminal intensive path? There are quite a lot of less intimidating Gui's and on no distro I've ever been on has there been that much need for terminal.

    Hell, after installing arch it still ran fine and I could get all my gui's, without much terminal fuss (after installing in pure terminal)

    It's an incredibly useful tool, but not that needed for everyday use.

  • First off, voyager doesn't have all lemmy settings, so check by logging into your instance on a browser for nsfw settings

    I ain't on your instance, so don't know but dbzer0 seems to have a "no porn" rule; have ya ever seen the blurred nsfw posts? If you go on "all" there ought to be enough porn and stuff to check, and you can view your profile without being logged in - another browser f.ex

  • Spesifically I made this meme due to some commenters not wanting to respect neo-pronouns. I understood the pronouns as somewhat furry, and thought of the case of furry tolerance (a convo I've had with some friends.)

    the reason for dismissing both furries and the spesific neo-pronouns seem to be the same; that it's seen as very sexual
