The spectre of communism is haunting the Fediverse

  • Or, hear me out, we create a socialist government that make food, water and housing human rights and that works towards a communist world where everyone gets what they need and give what they can.

  • The red flag revival

  • This question comes from the “what if everyone just wants to do nothing” to justify the existence of a system in which if you are not able to work you die.

Everyone is guaranteed a job, so if they don’t want to then they will just have less money to go around, or maybe they wouldn’t even need to if what they did is automated. However, regardless of whether they work or not, they are guaranteed food and housing. So they just get to do whatever they want. In a communist system someone livelihood is not tied to a job.

Why is it called "male loneliness epidemic"? Dont women feel lonely too? Wtf?

  • I don’t know the context of why that was brought up around you, but that isn’t inherently a racist thing, just a fact.

I just sat down for the first time with them as a group on the lunch table, and this white girl just casually said that out of the blue. I barely knew any of these people, and there was the Mexican guy and Indian guy sitting, on the table, yet this one white women, just decided to make the comment about black people. It was honestly disrespectful and disgusting, how she decided that it was okay to other someone like that the first time they decide to join them on the table. To me it felt that to her the reasons that caused to this, namely slavery, segregation, apartheid, red lining, sundown towns and racial financial segregation, are just cute side notes, and that her comment was just a cutesy thing to point out, by the fact that she just laughed about it. Back when it happened I didn't know how to respond to that, since who the hell starts a conversation with that? I was not used to that level of crassness since I wouldn't do that to anyone. For instance, I barely had any Chinese people were I grew up, but I am not about to other a Chinese person while laughing about it as my first convo with them. That was just pure malice. It was a very disgusting experience

Finally for some professional advice, learn from those that may be smarter than you instead of being upset that they are.

These are not the kind of people who help those that they deem outsiders. They give wrong advice on purpose. Or just act irritated if you ask them anything because they don't want to have to deal with you nor share the top with anybody. Besides, these are not the kind of people that I would want to learn from anyway. And even if I wanted to, they are pretty good at gatekeeping knowledge and opportunities.

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

For those who have experience this: How do you deal with the feelings of anger and insecurity that come when someone who was being abusive towards you, is more clever in things that matter to you?

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

When they tell you at work or at school to give it your all, do they mean to do something until you burn out or collapse of exhaustion? Because that seems to be the trope in all movies and shows.

  • Lmao, the left are Marxist and Anarchists

  • Reformism is not anti-capitalism. Reforms are just nicer capitalism. There will still be capitalism and imperialism but people just get a bigger slice of the imperialist pie until the ruling class decides to take the slice away.

  • Your notion is a very post modernist ideology of absolute relativism, which is an idealist unscientific notion. Socialism starts at anti-capitalism. Anything pro-capitalist is not left wing because everything falls under liberalism which is not a left wing ideology.

  • The left starts at anti-capitalism. Anything other than that is right wing

  • Democrats are right wing.

    But… I have black friends

  • Not really… They teach you the hegemonic ideas

  • Dictatorship of the proletariat is democracy for the people

  • Are you saying that you can have undemocratic socialism?

  • And it feels very naive to believe that people change just because they are called out on it and they have to say so to save whatever is left of their reputation. It is even more naive to believe so when the guy hasn’t improve a tiny bit.

Saying that he improved and we should just shut up about it just because he said so, it is literal gaslighting dressed in “just put the other cheek” masochism and giving green light to abuser just because they lie about their supposed improvement

  • Admitting something because you are called out on it is the same as apologizing for saying racist shit on tv. It is all performative and wouldnt happen if people wouldnt have made it public

  • He didn’t admit his fault. He just validated his ideology and told other people that they don’t have to work with him.

He is pretty much normalizing abusive behavior and rationalizing it by saying that he is not politically correct and that respect is earned.
