  • I think David Graeber and David Wengrove make a case that it has worked in bigger communities too.

  • You really don’t have to. It’s for collectors who have cartridges and want to experience them on a HDTV.

  • I would buy it, if it where available in Europe.

  • I had a time where I had to make new friends in a new city, and what I learned is that you have to take initiative a lot in the beginning of a new friendship. You have to suggest something to do together maybe the first 2 - 4 times. After some time it should be more equal if not find some other friends.

  • If people actively pay for this, they are bloody idiots.

  • Yes, but they do it in a way that make rich people even richer. And the trickle down economy makes sure that it also makes politicians richer.

  • I don’t think this can be solved with any type of technology. It needs legislation. These AI companies need regulation.

  • It’s not about privacy. It’s about AI companies stealing other peoples work and knowledge and profiting. Like what they did with artists. And I think that’s bothering a lot of people. It’s kind of sad that we cannot exchange information with each other for free, without some Silicon Valley crooks taking advantage and trying to convert other people’s good will into profit.

These LLMs are also polluting the web with AI junk and slop. The web is absolutely tainted with shitty ChatGPT text and images, making it harder and harder to find authentic information. I think a lot of people don’t want to contribute with that.

  • It seems to matter for the users at Stack Overflow. And why should anybody give anything for free to the crooks in Silicon Valley. All they do is create technology designed to extract value out of people and give as little as possible back.

  • How could anybody stop the AI robbers from stealing content from the fediverse?

  • I’m sure the Saudis are super fair and would not dream of targeting queer people.

  • It’s not nothing if Telegram makes people believe they only share their location in a limited manner, but instead broadcast it to the whole world. That’s a serious breach of trust. I don’t know why Telegram users keep making excuses for that platform.
