  • Yeah, it's like an AI parodied an xkcd comic.

  • No they're talking about AL, the man who's behind every 4 second transition of whatever you want into Ghibli. Al is a savant who can crank out a billion renditions of memes turned into South Park characters a second.

He used to be a free man, but the company Open AL decided that his gift was too useful to be squandered so now he sits in a basement chained to a rock as he gets order after order demanding Hatsune Miku feet. He's not even good at drawing feet yet.

  • Also depending on what you do the results can be virtually unnoticeable for months or years and may never lead to anything tangible.

  • Yeah, they're not trying to foster left vs right, they're trying to foster all right-wing with in-group fighting.

  • Should have said "yous guyses"

  • Someone at the translation department really messed up when they named their product Kin Grinder.

  • Yeah I think based on how stories work there's definitely going to be a pretty major twist. If there's not that would suck but so much of the story is being telegraphed and I think the quality of the writing so far has proven that the show runners probably know that. If it's the same team that brought as scavenger's reign then I have faith right now.

  • This show has a lot going against it imo.

A plot that's straight out of a highschool dropout's mushroom-fueld fantasy (complete with the self-insert).

Characters that are based on vague ideas or one-off jokes

Good animation, but a weird lazy-feeling character visual design.

BUT despite that, the show knows exactly what it's doing and so far everything comes together seamlessly. The writing is tight, quick, and funny and there really has not been a missed story beat so far.

  • Dinosaurs writing their ancient pictographic language on giant ginkgo biloba leaves.

  • I mean, you still "cussed". Switching two letters around doesn't change the meaning and the original word doesn't hold any special powers.

I agree it's not much to make a reply about.

I think the attitude stems from the view that using placeholder words for swear words is often associated with religious/puritanical attitudes since there's not really a reason to do it so the user reacts as they would to puritanical people invading their community i.e. hostile.

I think that's not as true today but that's where the backlash comes from.

  • Yeah. No standard covers all use cases. It's just best to have one standard that makes a lot of compromises.

  • I've gotta be real, I'm pretty sure the son wants this 90% for the brand name.

  • Friends I have talk about ordering groceries so casually. I go onto these apps and see a 20% markup with delivery fees and I'm like what the fuck.

  • It looks like each enchilada +cheese sauce is like 500+ calories (I would bet closer to 700). All it needs is a small side to make a meal.

  • Imagine a mouse walking up to you, he takes out a tiny, mouse appropriate sized cheese wheel, and eats it. You think "huh, that's bizarre" it's easily the most interesting thing to happen to you this week if not month. And as you're trying to imagine how a mouse gets that size of a cheese wheel (is a human making them for him?) the mouse proceeds to eat your body weight in cheese wheels in a split second and screams the n-word at you so hard you fall over.
