  • He also mentioned Cachy as a viable option for Steve alongside Baszzite, with the caveats on both. I'm glad Steve decided on Bazzite. I'm a Cachy OS user myself, but I still like Bazzite for the purpose Steve needs it for. I think it'll be great and I hope he succeeds, genuinely

  • Honestly, see if they have forums and sign up to it. Create a post and let them know. I'm sure they'll appreciate it

  • Very true. I guess I could have phrased it better. But you're right, not everyone needs to dig deeper into Linux, a lot of us want to just enjoy their system that just works. I'm actually one of those people.

  • And excellent, because being linux, drawing attention to issues increases the chances of them getting fixed, whereas that is hardly the case for Windows.

This is the most important part of this whole thing to me. Imagine Nvidia watching Steve shitting on them for having horrible drivers on Linux and millions of people seeing that.

  • This is great. Honest people like Steve and Wendell are great for Linux. Let's make sure, as a community, we don't give them a hard time about their distro of choice. I think bazzite is an excellent choice to start until they get comfortable digging deeper into the system.

  • You didn't say which GPU! If it's all AMD, then just replace. That's what I did and everything worked fine. If you're going from AMD to Nvidia, them install the Nvidia drivers first, turn it off, replace, turn back on

  • Red Hat is just a name now. Rest in peace.

  • I orgasm hard when I find a new error other than the one I've been battling for the better part of a week.

  • I love the idea and I'm very much willing to buy one (as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg of course)

  • Understandable. I grew up in a 3rd world country. I didn't have power in my house until 2007. Owned my first laptop in 2010 when I came to the US. Owned my first ever gaming console in 2011, I was 30 back then. Lol. I completely understand where you are coming from. I have zero judgement in (on?) this matter.

  • I have a friend who is like that. He doesn't leave anything behind. He basically has every gaming console out there, two PCs, 3 handhelds..... Etc. He has over 1800 games in his team library. I couldn't do that even if I had the money for it. Man, we don't even have enough hours in the day to play all of that shit. Lmao

  • Certainly understandable. I really don't want them to increase the resolution. For that screen size, it's perfect. If they made better hardware and kept the same screen res, imagine the battery life you'll get out of this thing. Also, I want them to keep how it looks like right now. It's hands down the most comfortable handheld I've ever tried, and I've tried several of them.

  • Why is everyone in a hurry? What's wrong with the one we have? I have the 64GB LCD one (OG one) and it's fucking flawless still. Yeah, the storage is annoying, but all of my games play no problem. So, what's the issue? Also, do y'all realize how fucking insane the ergonomics on this one? It genuinely made me not look at any other device. Please let them take their time so we can get an even nicer device.

  • And on the Asus devices. I've had this WiFi issue on bazzite on my onexplayer for months until a random developer fixed it by disabling the wifi driver on the device sleeps and re-enables it when it wakes up. The device is now flawless.

  • I'm playing the first ratchet and clank on rpcs3.

  • Bazzite just works when it's a regular desktop. The HTPC (with steam game mode) one has a major issue that I don't see them even addressing, it doesn't suspend. It goes into a permanent black screen and the PC is still running. Nothing revives it beside a forced reboot. I reported it to their GitHub and got nothing really. I thought it was my hardware, but I had a friend of mine bring his whole tower to my house, we installed bazzite and it did the same thing. His tower has all new AMD hardware. On my laptop, bazzite is solid as hell. Works with zero issues.

  • I have the same question.

  • Hi, Tumbleweed 👋🏽
