Having a cordless impact wrench is the dream but I just use a small commuter car and havent had the need for one yet. Might keep an eye out for one if they go on sale.
My buddy has the same car (one gen back) and was able to fit a floor jack in the spare compartment with a donut tire. Might try and see if I can get mine to fit, then I will have freed up some basement storage space.
Yeah was expecting it to suck ass. Two of my cousins bought houses around 2022 and I helped with some of the work at their places when they first moved in, so I knew nothing would be perfect and got an idea of what we could do ourselves/with a little help.
But yeah I happen to know a couple who had rainbows and birds deliver their keys. My SIL's SIL (there has to be a word for that) married a trust fund kid who's dad owns a car dealership. The dad was buying a house in a newly developed area, and decided to buy the house next to his and gift it. They have not been a good source for advice.
Didn't think about seeing how everything holds up during all the seasons. Windows and AC are only a few years old but the furnace is closer to end of life than new. Guess we will see how it goes this winter. I'm sure there will be a lot more to consider that I don't even know about yet.
The first house our offer was accepted on had a large tree (the biggest tree I ever saw IRL besides some state parks) and had a credit to get it removed. 3 days after our offer was accepted a big storm came through and a branch fell, destroying the roof on the back half. We went through with the inspection because they told us insurance was replacing it, but we walked into a house with water going from the roof to the basement. There was even water pooling in the breaker box. We mentioned everything we found to them and they just said "well our neighbor is the contractor and he can do the roof and some of the walls. If you guys want to talk to insurance or find another contractor that's fine". We backed out after that.
Edit: There were multiple broken struts in the roof and they "didn't know about" and said the neighbor could fix them. We looked up the neighbor and he's just some guy with an LLC doing handy work. Nothing against that but when it comes to structural work, I would want an artitect or engineer to take a look, not some handyman who can "fix it" while missing a lot of the damage our inspector found.
Your latest house is pretty much what I am expecting as a FTHB. Permits have been my main concern after some quick searches. There's not a lot of updates made in recent years to the place that would require them, but who knows what was done that wasn't visible during inspection. I know it should be ok, but I never had to deal with this before so it's just another thing added to the list.
Is there a good 2nd hand market beside FB now? We are buying our first house and will be needing some stuff once we move in. My account is long gone and my wife's is deactivated, close to closing it out. We have some good antique and thrifts around us, but my SIL gets killer deals on FB market.
Late response now that I have some more money to work with but thanks! Tbh most of my tools are harbor freight and I don't think I need anything else for my usecase. Grandpa bought a dewalt set as he's tearing his deck down to build a pavilion. He told me to stop buying stuff and handed me a 70s craftsman tool box filled with most stuff I need and said to just use his power tools
I watched a documentary (Dear Kelly) this weekend and he showed up in it for a few minutes. The whole time I was saying his face looked too big after years of mainly seeing edits
The Blue/Green tick thing has winded down in my own personal sphere. My wife's family has a group chat where I was the only android user and would get dunked on when I replied. I just asked to be removed so they wouldn't have to deal with SMS/MMS bullshit. Now that RCS is on everything it doesn't matter. Ive been trying to get them to use Signal for the last few years but no one wants another app that isn't their default messaging app.
On the second part, yeah thats true. If Apple does anything right it's making "things work" for the average user, and I am sure we all know what the average user can do now. Any concerns I bring up with iOS is met with "but you work in IT and understand that stuff" which is hard to argue with when people just want something to work without troubleshooting and exploring options.
I was in a mosh pit for the first time in 7 years last year. I got fucking destroyed and was sore for about 2 weeks. I also slipped walking my dog during a big snow we had a few weeks ago and took me a little bit longer to get up than I used too. I am not old by any means and working on getting back in shape, but its starting :(
Not me, but my dad and his gf were at a headshop to get a new bowl/slide for their bong. They texted me and my wife to see "what the kids were calling them now a days" after a guess or two I said slide. They then went on a tangent how the people had no idea what they meant and kept trying to sell them a downstem lol. A few younger guys at my last job gave me shit for calling a banger a nail. Weed lingo sucks lol
Thats what I will be working on today. Read a little bit about it before imaging so I already got btrfs partitions set up. Thanks for reminding me I did that for a reason lol
I like when I start a job and someone has a furry avatar. I know who to go when something weird comes up I can't figure out. It's worked out for me so far.
I've been trying to introduce people to Jazzcore for the last few years. Check out Last Exits self titled album or anything of John Zorn's Painkiller and some of Naked City's work.
Edit: Realized I didn't say anything about the genre. It's a fusion genre incorporating hardcore punk, metal and free/improvisation jazz. Slightly different from Jazz Punk which always seems closer to mathrock than jazz to me.
