The last episode of season 1 of Bojack still draws a few tears. I remember going into that last scene expecting him to cause some shit and have a big showdown with Diane... but then he just quietly asks for some acknowledgement that he can be good. I think it was the unexpected delivery, but also now how that dialog keeps getting set to lofi contemplative music on youtube that continues to make it feel heartbreaking. The latter is my own fault for clicking shit though.
Adding Louis CK to the list. I used to like his shows, and genuinely found the writing and his takes to be thoughtful and helpful. Finding out he was gross and shitty the whole time sucked.
In college, my roommate decided to make jello shots in these little shot glasses we had. He and his buddies finished them off and stacked the empty glasses in the room. Ass of a roommate refused to clean them out, so they sat for a little more than a week, at which point I was sick of them enough to clean them myself.
The jello had crystallized around the rim of the glasses, cementing them together, and as I twisted a couple of them apart the crystallized jello sliced into my hand.
My wife still taunts me sometimes for getting cut by jello.
Be engineer, draw pictures with numbers next to it that mean that your picture is important. Give picture to someone who agrees that your picture is important and presses on your picture with a stamp. Then give your picture to people that don't work at desks to make a thing that looks like your important picture.
Oh no, I didn't mean for my pickpocketing scams with hostile service and aggressive touts to mean that I didn't want to be friends 😢. For sure the US though.
Totally fair. I only started paying attention after hearing a podcast about how the letter "D" is pronounced in names in some other cultures. I was doing it wrong. It was a similar issue with position of the tongue when saying words like "dentist" compared to "dog".
Reading differences in pronunciation can be difficult, but in regard to tongue placement when saying these words, when saying "blush", the tip of the tongue should press against the inside of the top-front teeth. When saying "brush", the tongue should curl back and lightly press on the inside right and left side of the back teeth.
When he said that he could grab women "by the pussy", he followed through with it when he raped E Jean Carroll. But when he said that he "could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody", I don't think that he has so far.
It seems that his voters are thinking that he's not serious about the murder thing, but it's okay if he's serious about the rape thing, when it's quite likely that he's serious about both.
I didn't know if it would be too "on-line". The "got any grapes" line is from a popular kid's song about an annoying duck, and the pun, "Beef or eel" is a take on the shorthand, "Be for real" to express that someone should be more serious
Have kids. I absolutely adore my kids and have no regrets, but also recognize that I'm in a relatively stable situation where having kids doesn't create other unmanageable challenges for me and my wife. We carefully considered our capacity to have and raise kids. They were not all comfortable conversations. I am glad to have waited to have kids until I was in a good and stable place, and also can no longer imagine what it would have been like to not have these absolutely wonderful little monsters both spoiling and making every moment more magnificent.
Thanks, mate. I installed Mint because a couple threads I checked said it was probably the best for people with no experience with Linux. One program I was trying to find a replacement for is a Monte Carlo simulation add-on for MS Excel called SIPMath Modeler tools from probabilitymanagement.org. I just started using LibreOffice as a replacement to Excel, so honestly I haven't checked out the add-on library yet. I'm not too worried about it yet since I have an older laptop that's air gapped now and still running Excel 2016 if I absolutely need to run the program.
I'm an accidental Linux adopter this year. I accidentally bricked a relatively new laptop by messing up an MSConfig setting, and since I didn't have Windows restore discs, I just switched it to a Linux desktop.
I honestly didn't know what to expect, but the laptop has been running really smooth since then. I didn't have a huge Steam library to replace, so the only bummer has been one or two Windows/Mac only apps that I haven't been able to find Linux replacements for yet. Otherwise, 8/10, would brick my laptop again.
