  • None of those things improve the insertable battery. Their size and voltage are what makes them useful. A smaller, higher voltage AA battery is an entirely useless AA battery.

  • Obsolete would imply a better in every way alternative. Kinda think they fall into the technology category of timeless and always useful. It's hard to think of a safer, cheaper, higher capacity, disposable and more utilitarian form factor. Kinda like asking "will shovels ever become obsolete?"

  • Yeah, I moved across the country so kinda my fault. I text with them pretty regularly so we keep up to date. I went on holiday with them recently after not seeing them for a year. We're still really close but we can tell that our lives are diverging and that what we once had no longer exists.

  • Digital media. It's too easy to pirate. There's no reason not to other than being a good boy. The only way I could see myself going legit is if they started to make really good public digital libraries and I could download anything I wanted from a single source with a library card of some kind. The exception to this would be online games but the ones I like to play happen to be free lol.
