  • Yusss that looks similar! I somehow doubt their 60 minute guarantee, being in the US and all, unfortunately lol

  • What about those drop bears though? Aggressive cuddles

  • I am a winter person through and through. Rain is pretty cool too, which is what I think you get most of in the northwest? Ideal temp is like 45⁰ lol. I'd melt in southern Cali

  • That sounds amazing, not silly at all. One of my neighboring towns used to do something similar back home. They had like a "Christmas Alley" I think it was called where everything was decked out to the nines in lights and decorations, people (including my family) would drive through just to see it.

  • Oo, that's a good one, yeah I didn't even think of that but it's just so much louder out here always. Brighter, too. I miss seeing the stars without all of the light pollution. If you've never laid down in an empty field away from city or town lights to see the stars in the absolute dark, it's amazing.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

People who have moved away from your home town/area, what do you miss most?

  • Tough. If this is all I get forever I'll go for replay over best games ever.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, good 5k hours

Monster Hunter World(Iceborne), like 5-10k in that

NieR Automata, less so for the replayability and more for the music

    FFX For same as above

Aaaaand hm. Oh I want some childhood. Majora's Mask.

  • You missed the point where I said for the LAYMAN. Average user. Idiot consumer looking for a console for their kid or whatever. That's how things take off. Yeah it might be great for people who know things but if it doesn't grab the suburban mom market even a little then it's probably not going anywhere too far.

  • No idea how to respond to this. They run around with actual broomsticks between their legs? Well, whatever floats your boat lol

  • If it's not cheaper than a PS5 I don't think it's gonna catch on unfortunately. Xbox is obviously defunct by now but the ps has much much more wide ranging awareness than Steam. And to compete with that they'll need more than "it's twice as expensive but a little prettier" to the layman.

  • If you want to stay sane; do not.

  • Quidditch, because it would change the laws of physics and everything would probably explode in a hilarious hellfire

  • A cross, I just like the design. I was told I was a little early by the fifth wise men but he just sorta crumbled into dust after saying that? Go figure.

  • If it's cheaper than the top 30% I'll think about it. I haven't had a gaming capable PC in a long while and I HAVE wanted one, but I'm not paying $1000 for it

  • Not to mention the slave labor they gain out of it.

  • This exactly. Good lord, women talk about sex in EXCRUCIATING detail apparently. My dude friends and I don't even really touch on the subject but I've specifically asked a couple of my close women friends about this and they talk about EVERYTHING. Like, size, shape, positions, times, noises, it was...enlightening. And uncomfortable. This is obviously anecdotal and could just be this one group of friends of mine are super open and horny, but they said it's pretty common.

  • All of those things are main stream now though, aren't they? Those are all super popular nowadays, everyone and their grandma are marvel fans it seems like, it's rarer to find someone who ISN'T a Marvel fan. Big bang theory is just out of touch and relying on old stereotypes. But women are just as nerdy/geeky/whatever you want to call it as men I've always found, they're just more hesitant to show it off or geek out about it in public for fear of getting those really creepy gatekeeping dudes coming up and "well akschually unless you can name the tree used in the brand of paper used in the original printing of Deadpool number 42 you're not a real fan". Have seen shit like that happen to women friends of mine in public who were WAY more into comics and more knowledgable about all that than I was unfortunately.

  • I found a research paper that came up by some doctor who did the math for me thankfully lol.

  • Sleep. A lot of water. Alcohol makes it much worse, don't do that. Try to hibernate for as long as possible basically. Spicy soup will help clear the sinuses.

  • I actually looked this up just for you. Surprisingly low at .3%! While the number of cells are roughly halfish each human and non human, the non human cells weigh so little they only account for around 200 grams of actual weight. Learned something new myself there.

  • Technology @beehaw.org

TV has a burn-in image that has moved over time

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What's that one story you always wanted to share with people but never had the opportunity?

  • LGBTQ+ @beehaw.org

    Something more lighthearted
