  • Even AI slop is better than that. I assumed it was like a kid on gimp who took a pic of an elephant and tried to remove the outside and stick it in a background pic of a store.

  • But that has direct ties to the US government. (And as we’ve seen under Trump), those ties can be abused.

So I agree they are good services. But IMO they still have dodgy ties.

  • While I sort of agree. I’m just gonna say, you ain’t gonna find anything mainstream western media that doesn’t have major ties to unethical corpos unless you basically force yourself to only use AP and the Guardian (and even then, pretty sure they still have dodgy ties, just it’s not as visible since no direct “ownership”.)

  • Are we acting like this isn’t the case for 99.5% percentage of the western population?

  • Oh this would go so great on the lamposts next to the main street in my town

  • Ah Stefan Milo. I love him.

  • Yeah that really bothered me. A lot of people are going to interpret that literally. I hate that sort of clickbait.

  • I did this for downvotes. Because like idk i find they are quite petty sometimes. And the satisfaction of having a bigoted take have 50 downvotes is emulated in the fact u see a bigoted take wirh 2 upvotes followed by a reply with 64 upvotes.

  • The company will have to form a board-level committee devoted to overseeing the company's regulatory compliance and antitrust risk, a rarity for US firms. This group will report directly to CEO Sundar Pichai. There will also be reforms at other levels of the company that allow employees to identify potential legal pitfalls before they affect the company. Google has also agreed to preserve communications. Google's propensity to use auto-deleting chats drew condemnation from several judges overseeing its antitrust cases.

I guess that’s good. But it feels like slapping a bandaid on an amputated leg. Like in the grand scheme of things it won’t change anything to do with the most evil stuff google does (surveillance capitalism).

  • I somewhat agree. I think it’s fine people use usenet. But it’s not my cuppa tea. I’ll stick to torrents :).

  • In voyager your can’t see avatars. A lot of people use voyager.

  • Jellyfin is basically as easy to use as plex within the same network. I’ve set up both dueing the past 6 months. The only big difference is that Jellyfin is much more of a pain to work through port forwarding.

  • It works perfect for me except for a weird bug that’s been documented for half a decade but no one is solving.

The bug being that when your DNS slows down and the connection is cut for a second. The torrent client doesn’t automatically try to restablish connections you actually have to restart the client to get your torrents going again.
