  • I think there is a space for these kinda games, but going so high budget with it was a mistake. A studio should probably have a flagship series (or universe, in this case) and keep side projects smaller scoped so the limited audience doesn’t hurt the rest of the studio.

    Also release AW2 on Steam lol

  • Most gamers won’t even hear about it. Just seeing the article already puts you in the “highly informed” bucket

  • From another comment it sounds like there is pushback from users when someone behaves poorly, which is good, but I don’t see why anyone would want that experience to be the norm. Just libertarian things I guess

  • Yup, seems like they want to run a nazi bar. From their wiki (archive):

    nothing that a player can type in public chat (aside from the exceptions given below) can result in a  ban or any form of official reprimand. You will not be banned for anything you say, aside from spamming. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Swearing;
    • Personal attacks;
    • Racial or cultural insults;
    • Asking to be banned.

    It’s worded a little confusingly, but there is a list of exceptions further down the page. The server is hosted in Germany so the expected symbols are removed if built in-game, but most of the other exceptions are to keep the game playable.

  • I did, it was full of speculation based on something you admitted you had no idea about

  • Drop the wild speculation, there is zero reason to play devil’s advocate. If you cared to do any reading there are a myriad of examples of this company’s llms pushing harmful behavior.

    Yes, there are probably other factors. There always are. It might not be what you meant, but you are saying that the companies selling these products should get off for free because they “would’ve done it anyway”

  • You could already defraud companies by just sending them invoices and hoping they pay, now you can automate it! 🫠

  • The biggest improvement for me, even viewing at a distance, is that I can disable anti aliasing. If it’s rendered at a high enough resolution jaggies aren’t an issue

  • this should get you started

     python

    from datetime import datetime

    words = ["gotta", "go", "fast"]

    print("Type the words quickly to race! 🏎")
    while len(words):
        start = datetime.now()
        target = words.pop(0)
        val = input(f"{target}: ")
        if val != target or (datetime.now() - start).total_seconds() > 2.5:
            print("You swerved off the road and died painfully in a dramatic explosion 💥")
            quit(1)
        else:
            print("VROOM! 🏎")

    print("You won! 🏁")

  • They’re doing good work, I hope this succeeds!

  • Americans will use anything but the metric system

  • They remastered CE for its 10th anniversary in 2011, MCC’s only new addition was the Halo 2 remaster

  • I think people losing their livelihood is a good thing!

  • Sadly not surprising when so many get laid off ☹️

  • ow did they limit it? I still see all the regions in steamdb. I know the exchange rates haven’t been updated in a while so their suggested regional prices haven’t been pretty bad
