I'm from space!

  • Good question. We’ll talk it over again. The founding mod asked this community about this topic about a year ago. At the time, most of the users here wanted to break free from Reddit’s videos community and allow political videos.

But, that was also before Oct 7th and before the American elections went into overdrive. So, there is a lot more controversial and or highly downvoted content clogging the feed now.

  • Re: on by default

IMHO, the problem isn’t that it’s on by default, it’s the fine tuning of the feature. The velocity and pattern needed to trigger it + the lack of a reasonable max scale.

removed has had this on by default for a decade, but it feels more intentional when it appears. Meanwhile, I litterally still see KDE threads from people trying to troubleshoot “bugs” about their cursor size.

The KDE cursor needs about 15 min of a motion designer sitting next to the engineer that coded this.

Their fields are flooded during harvest because that expedites harvesting.

  • You’re better fall in line and jump off this cliff with the rest of us.

  • Thanks! So, from what I grok, the claim is basically that the games could probably run fine if they were written and optimized properly, but since they’re probably not, people have to buy a GPU that applies a bandaid solution. Right?

  • Tale as old as time. The new generations always have new slang and new cultural norms. All of us confused our elders.

I remember when things like “dude” was a new trend in the late 70’s / early 80’s. My parents and grandparents used to say we sounded like cowboys.
