I think this is going to be my main.

Has accounts on lemmy.zip, lemmy.world, fedia.io and kbin.earth with the same handle

  • first thought that came across my mind is the Black Hand of the Brotherhood of Nod

I guess it's nice that it follows the principles of design for flags, but it still looks off somehow. the minimalism of the eye vs the more detailed hand print seemed at odds.

A simpler less detailed hand print IMO would look better. Like the Black Hand of Nod. also less detailed Hand print = less/no fingerprinting across internet

  • I set up the run conditions when I used it on my poco phone (poco and xiaomi are notorious background task killers) and that worked well for me. I had to launch it less than when I didn't set run conditions IIRC.

ever since I upgraded though, I stopped using syncthing lol

  • ah, so both are legit. thanks.

  • I thought I was smart going back to a video that featured two USB C cable testers. I onky watched the video and didnt check or paid attention what the brand was.

They are, in fact, these exact two brands.

  • Thanks. Starting easy is fine. At least I now have a place to start from.

  • I honestly don't see much from the comms I follow (and it's a lot thanks to piefed topics), and when I do browse all, if I find a post from a comm that allows them, I either ignore it or block the comm, for example a genAI art comms.

Idk, lemmy, mbin, piefed, etc isn't reddit with algorithms so it's kind of on the user if they see a lot of it, IMO.

  • All of those use AI as a way to filter and group information

Is there any resource I can read on or start from that's useful for the average person? Just pointers so I don't go on slop rabbit holes which I'm sure there are a lot of.

  • such a bad moment to have eyes and can read

  • As long as the RGB is tuneable into any other color (combination) I'm okay with it. I also like white gaming peripherals more lately. I don't consciously seek gaming esthetics, but if that's the better value I pick it.

oh and someone else mentioned it's childish. good. I miss being childish. there's very little thing I have to do while AdUlTiNg that let's me being childish. so gaming will be childish for me.

  • I like being childish. I miss being childish. therefore my gaming everything will be childish. 😇

  • Oh hey, thanks for the reminder I have to get 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later before going to watch 28 Years Later.

  • maybe they're confusing it with Outer Worlds?

  • eating chips with chopsticks also slows me down and some times prevent me from overeating chips

  • Ooh that's pretty neat. I'll have to see how to set up listenbrainz.

  • Oh yeah I knew of last.fm but haven't checked it out in years. Pretty sure I checked Spotify to scrobble to it.

Have to see how to scrobble to last.fm when I cut out Spotify and idk play local music on my phone and computer.

  • Bandcamp and SoundCloud does sound better for smaller artists as I understand. Alas I still listen to big artists.

Edit: I do still let in newsletters from an artist on bandcamp, Jim Guthrie. I think he did the OST for FTL game. Should check him again. And go from there for discovering new artists on bandcamp

  • What's the difference between musicbrainz and listenbrainz?

  • Definitely counts for me. I'm deep up to my eyes into vtubers and that's why I use YouTube for theor originals and covers. Some of the indie ones can't/ won't put their originals on Spotify or other major music platform and just YouTube.
