  • edit: answered to the wrong reply, sorry. But: me too, to both of those!

  • Absolutely do not checkout "conky" and under no circumstances search for "conky themes" in image search. A program for the utterly deranged

  • Shit, I've been scrubbing the bathroom for 10hours, can't close Vim

  • I know it's a classic but confused how I'm supposed to use Vim to send an email

Already got my Vim, any tips?

  • I really liked the editing. The video has a good topic and it's well presented but damn that's some smooth editing.

  • Honestly I don't know. My phone's been on silent/vibration for a few years now.

  • I... Uh... Might have been raised in a culture that is quite different from yours, but I'd say very abnormal.

  • Itsekkin päätin olla menemättä takaisin FB:hen vaikka kuinka tekis mieli muutaman ryhmän takia.

Ja jep. Saa nähdä kuinka kauan ihmiset jaksaa tota ennenkuin kääntyy käyttäjämäärät selvään alakiitoon. Tosin yllätyin siitäkin, miten paljon netflixiä vielä käytetään, vaikka nostivat hintoja ja estivät käyttäjätilin jakamisen kodin ulkopuolelle.

  • I say if you plan to stick around and have patience to cultivate your community: do it.

If you don't, then please don't create them. You could join and post in existing communities that are close to those topics instead.

You are of course free to do as you will, but the reason I say don't go for it if you don't have the patience is because dead and unmoderated communities cause more issues than they solve.

Additionally: if you are new it's possible some of the communities you are looking for already exist. Searching in https://lemmyverse.net/ might give you better results in case you are on a small instance.

Edit: I feel like I should elaborate: a community that is left unmoderated might end up with horrible content and the instance admin will be clueless until someone bumps into said content and reports it.

You could create your commmunities but lock them if you decide to ditch lemmy.

  • Hey you leave my favourite beaver alone!

  • I'll be sure to give you a notice! I will probably make a post about it (which you are welcome to do sooner if you wish!) to e.g. [email protected] too!

  • Never read any of his works before, have to give it a read. Thanks for the recommendation :)

  • Nice! I imagine you go through a lot of books in a year!

Follow up if you have time: what book you've read recently that you'd like to recommend?

  • ~What is your typical day like?~ seems like another user beat me to it. Let me ask instead: what is the most useful tool you use at work?

  • Jep! Ja niikuin joku kiteytti aikaisemmin aika hyvin täällä lemmyssä:

"we're gamers, if we see enemies, we know we're going in the right direction."

  • Toivotaan että tää kansalaisaloite menee läpi ja saadaan ubin kaltaiset pelifirmat kuriin.

  • No, but I do so anyway because I'm underpaid.
