  • The Stoics would say you actually shouldn't seek constant mental stimulation, because letting your brain just "be", and sitting with boredom, is actually incredibly beneficial for creativity and personal growth. I do have to ask though, as what you're describing is so relatable and I used to be the same way as you until I taught myself to let my brain relax; is it possible you have ADHD?

  • I like day dreaming, talking to people I bump into while I'm about, hearing the buzz of people in a pub garden, the music playing in people's cars as they drive past. I like these things, it makes me feel connected to the place I live. It's also good to just let your mind wander without constant stimulation.

  • I run 3 times a week, do yoga most days, walk to and from work, go to raves at the weekend. Getting close to 40 and feeling good still! I don't think we are old enough to be struggling in our bodies yet.

  • Ok but the point is, if anyone isn't using Outlook they do get a pointless email. My workplace doesn't use Outlook and I get tons of these. I'm glad to have learnt I can block them though.

  • I would strongly recommend trying Couch to 5k. There are a bunch of free apps for it. It's a program that can get basically anyone from doing zero exercise, to being able to run 5km. I literally never ran until my 30s and now I do 5km 3 times a week, and even did a 10km race.

It's very gentle and achievable but all of a sudden you'll realise you've finished the program and you're a runner haha.

  • Interesting, thank you for your explanation!

  • Getting close to 40 and I spend time with friends probably on average 2-3 times a week. I'm a sociable person but do have a low social battery, so need a lot of time alone/just with my partner. Me and some close friends put on music events so we naturally spend a lot of time together which is nice.

  • Yeah shared hallucinations are so cool and interesting. The first time me and my partner did acid we were both watching vines growing and retracting over and over across the roof of our tent, and watching it light up in different flashing colours. It was amazing.

  • What happened to make you change your mind?

  • I agree, no need to over-complicate anything. I think even describing the fediverse as being like email confuses people. I just say it's like old reddit but nicer and no ads.

  • Maybe more men do, I always just want to go again.

  • NO QUESTION, ONLY KNOW.

  • I assume this I just bait but regardless, describing any of these values as "losing" suggests that for anything to be worth pursuing in life, you must be winning at it. I don't even know what that means. Don't you make choices and spend time doing things because they make you happy or they benefit you or the people around you?

  • One of the few celebrity deaths I truly grieved, we lost a treasure.

  • It's changing position that's beneficial.

  • Do some yoga my friend!

  • Oh shit, you're right 😂 I had no idea they just scraped other news sites articles.

  • Not for me

  • I can't see anyone's avatars and did not know I could set one, but I also wouldn't if I could as I think they're always a bit cringe. I prefer the sea of anonymity.
