  • Do you not have to insert/tap your card and enter a pin or something?

How would they even know what account to take it out of otherwise?

  • I tried switching to gin and tonics at one point, and they are good, but I ended up looking up how many calories I might be saving, and realized a g/t had the same amount of calories as a rum and coke.

I hadn't realized there was sugar content like that in tonic. But I did get a nice dance with a friendly brunette while drinking a g/t. Come to think of it that may be the only reason I was drinking g/t's...

  • See I can't see this being true, because if we figured out how to do it, and let someone else do it first, they would get all of the gains first.

  • Yeah, I've gotten 3 or 4 haircuts in the last 15 years that were from barbers. But I don't care as much about what others think I guess. I cut the sides with a single length, then the top with scissors or buzz it to a longer length if I'm lazy. The only tough part is getting the back straight, which you learn tricks for. I'm so not bothered by it at this point it is the only time I use selfie mode on my phone. Turn away from the sink mirror, selfie mode on and trim it carefully. Blend the top with scissors if needed, but really it isn't often needed for my hair.

Edit: that said, if your are worried and you have a spouse, friend, family member, cleaning the back up only takes 2 minutes of their time.

  • Copy party works pretty well, I've liked it. That said I don't have mine open to everyone, it requires a password for view/read/edit rights or whatnot, which you can easily divy out using a config file. (Not the most secure, but that's because I haven't put in any protections myself)

  • I would find it more likely the hospital fucked up and you got the wrong baby from the icu. As entering/post leaving said hospital there has always been a paper trail. Records they checked in, record of baby born, and birth certificate. Also birth certificates have changed a bit here, so if you look at your original birth certificate the listed parents had social security numbers listed, when you order a replacement they do not. Guessing a lot of people were worried about family members stealing identities or something. If I didn't have said birth certificate, I couldn't get a driver's license or anything else really, so unless they faked one well enough and changed records in the hospitals, it's a very low chance I was stolen. Now the number of men who are lied to about being the father is higher than that, and there are some rare cases of having someone else sign a birth certificate that isn't the biological father. I have known someone who lied to her ex about how long into a pregnancy she was, and had her new partner sign the birth certificate as the father to get legal paternal rights. (Obviously a shit show when the biological father finds out).

  • Your checking the math, you'll never have the worst game mechanics when being accurate.

  • 9's are great. 2/9 = 22.2 years, 5/9 = 55.5 years. Works the whole way up if you pretend people live 90 years. Lol

(Don't check the math, just believe in the game)

  • 2 sets of teeth, the first only lasting 1/9 of your life and the second being 8/9. 2/9, 7/9 would be much better or just 2/9, 4/9, 6/9.

Oh, hair falling out and all your joints hurting for 5/9 of your life kinda blows as well.

  • Yeah I wasn't sure if maybe it was a term they used in another part of the world, or if maybe it meant one who partakes in the use of alcohol but maybe isn't an addict. It seems like it is a synonym like you are saying.

  • Walked into a bar/club one night and it was packed because some biker event. They had multiple bars but I usually went to an outside one upstairs because I could smoke outside, you know double down on being unhealthy. The bartender somehow saw me and my spouse walk in, ran out from behind the bar and grabbed two chairs stashed in a corner so they were out of the way of people dancing and asked people to slide over and put those chairs in at the bar so we could sit down. Everyone around the area had this look like the queen of fucking England just walked in and Ill never forget it. That's the kind of customer service that will make sure you come back. The guy knew that business was seasonal, but if you treat your locals well when it gets busy like that, they'll be the ones who are there when it's slow season and he'd still have a few customers.

  • Is alcoholist(s) term that means something different than alcoholic(s)? Never seen it before

  • There used to be a sub for those on reddit but I forget the name, is there an equivalent on Piefed/Lemmy?

  • Think they are just a troll:

(Couldn't link the comment for whatever reason:) "Russia has the strongest military in the world that has technology that can eviscerate all NATO members within 20 minutes.

Some of their strategic argument doesn't even need nuclear capabilities.

Not saying they're invulnerable against attack, but they would be able to devastate all of NATO with their attacks."

  • Hope you were trying to sneak, tripped over your left foot and fell into the fire knocking embers onto the floor catching the room on fire, maybe one of your companions may be able to kick you into some water and maybe you'll escape before the building burns down. Overall.. might be best case scenario

  • I use a split tunnel for the VPN. You can route specific applications/services to go through the VPN, and leave the Plex access how it is currently if you want. I have my jellyfin server set up that one of my browsers and qbitorrent all go through the VPN tunnel that's always connected, then RustDesk, my file server, jellyfin and what not runs locally. So I don't have to lose access to Jellyfin when acquiring any content.

Note: you can actually kick off a download through the VPN, and tell it to download sequentially, then just refresh the movies list in your player(jellyfin for me) and start watching the movie while it downloads. Thought that was a nice surprise.

  • Video games do it as well. Painters, photographers. It's mostly just companies that take credit for all their workers work and just write "Vizio" on the front of the product.

I also assume if someone was in the industry and was looking for someone to do make-up in their next film, they can say man the make-up was great in movieA, check who did their makeup and see if they are available

If it is common knowledge that shutting a garage door with a running ICE vehicle inside will kill you, why do you think so many people think 1 billion ICE vehicles aren't bad in the atmosphere?
