    Her struggling with being a gorn host wouldve been significantly more interesting and it wouldve made more sense while being sadder.

  • In a rare defense of the movie... It was originally intended to be a miniseries but it got cut down to a movie when Michelle Yeoh won her Oscar and quickly became the most in demand actress for everyone.

    While I hated the movie and most aspects, it was very much a compromise on the original vision and was in no way what Paramount was intending to make. It's hard to tell if it being a show would've fixed all the issues with the acting and characters being cringe af but at the very least it probably wouldn't have had the same pacing issues and extremely rushed writing.

  • The first season, like all trek, is desperately trying to find its footing. That episode and 1-2 others could probably just straight up be skipped like how when I was looking for the best way to watch TNG for the first time the top ways I saw were "watch the first and last episode of season 1 and skip the rest".

    Once the show gets its footing it gets really good really quickly.

  • Spy was a movie that felt like it was making fun of her other roles in a way that made me enjoy it. The subversive aspect was good. I fully understand why it wouldn't appeal to someone else though since it literally is the same character she's played in a ton of other stuff.
