  • God Americans are so sensitive, the only dead person in that story is the shooter. Donald will get over it

  • That Ted seems to be on a crusade of his own.

  • Hard disagree on your first point. Name the flags with descriptive name, move this initialisation to a function, and there you go, self-documented and clear code.

  • I think the point is that the variable itself is an Option. Your example only works for literal Option (although the value inside the optional itself might not be a literal).

One option to OP's problem is to use an auxiliary trait implemented on both string and Option

    <string>

  • They'll just blame LFI for everything that goes wrong, it works for Macron, why not them.

  • The day your machine is compromised is also the day ALL your passwords get stolen.

  • It's funny, because a quick online search shows gitlab runs operations in Saudi Arabia. But at least a bunch of idiot westerners get to feel good about themselves 🤷‍♂️

  • Ugh this kind of BS virtue signaling is so pointless

  • You're right actually. Lemmy is full of Germans however, and criticism of the Vaterland is not welcome

  • But it is, do you not understand what rust brings compared to these two languages ?

  • With such a broad definition you could call even Haskell an oop language

  • I have the same problem with oop. 10 levels of encapsulated calls just to see you were in an overridden methods without enough data to find out which implementation it was. Ugh

  • Having to run a debugger to know what gets called at a given time is awful, and this oop practices exacerbate this

  • I don't get the cynism, I never implied any of those things. My heart to you on dealing with the trauma, really.

Most people on blahaj seem to have similar problems however and it makes for strange interactions, like this one here. I'm not sure how pointing out you probably were not thinking clearly in the comment above is bothering you so much. I mean, you're even the one talking about PTSD I reckon, not I.

Good luck with everything, hopefully you can read this before overzealous mods decide to delete it too.

  • I can just as well say that the screenshot above is the top 0.5% pushed by people trying to sell the tech. I don't really have an opinion either way tbh, I'm just being cynical. But my own experience with those tools hasn't been impressive.

  • Ah I see thanks, I guess I need to learn more about pfas

  • I don't have the full article, do they mention Bayer? Téflon does its own fair share of damages

  • People from a Teflon factory were protesting pfas ban in cookingware so you can add weak leadership on top of that
