  • From what I remember, it doesn’t matter much on Lemmy. Don’t know the technical stuff behind it though.

    Personally, just entirely hided the upvote/downvote numbers. Don’t care about it and it seriously means nothing. Turn off a device and the whole thing is vanished.

    Well if you had read the comments a bit, you would’ve read another comment of mine;

    True, true but most games she likes are emulation. The Switch games, a PS2 game and Cemu (Zelda).

    Anyway, my main intention was to get the Switch 2 so she could play Tears of the kingdom + Mario and Yoshi games that she likes.

    Oh yeah, I know hah. But considering the instance I'm on, you can, I assume already know how I obtain most of the games.

    But if you’re using EmuDeck, if you install it for her, it’s pretty simple after that - all the games just show up as games in Steam Library.

    Yeah, I use EmuDeck on my own Deck but there are some hiccups when it comes to using the emulators thru Gaming Mode (bit of laggy, sometimes the games won't start). Usually start the games through Desktop Mode. Did not manage to get the game to show up on the Steam Library, for some reason I just could not get that to work and due not enough time (work...) got a bit lazy and thought 'never mind' lol.

    Yeah, she plays a lot on it. But she usually wants me to turn on the games when it’s emulation.

    She really likes how the Deck feels (ergonomically).

    DODI torrents are always behind spam/scam link gates

    There’s a bypass script for this and should be on the DB0 megathread list (or at least in the PiratedGames megathread).

    and the installer is horrible. In the DODI installer to start it for some reason you have to press the up arrow or something. Just... why?

    Honestly, I never found this to be an issue. But can understand it could be a bit annoying.

  • There are so many games to play and so little time. It’s a little suffocating.

    • Persona 3 Reload.
    • After Love EP.
    • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (just mindlessly fun).
    • Trying out Constance game.

    Also debating to purchase Persona 5 Royal on Steam (on sale for €21) and play it with a Trainer on the Steam Deck. Already played the game on PS4 and.. just so little time.

  • Haven’t tried reinstalling yet but I have tried;

    • Changing from stable to pre-release and back to stable (since it didn’t change anything).
    • Checking for updates but already was on the latest (3.20).

    Don’t think I’ll reinstall because it would mean also reinstalling the plugins (bit lazy for that). I’ll probably wait it out until there’s an update.

  • I’m on stable version of SteamOS and I assume stable version of Decky. It happened after updating SteamOS. Reading here and there, I’ll just need to wait this out.

    Thank you for the discord server but I’m a bit bummed out that they force verification by phone number. I’m very cautious and suspicious about that kind of stuff. I joined it but won’t be chatting, I suppose.

  • I mainly use(d) Reddit for Piracy content (Piracy, PiratedGames, Steam Deck Pirates etc). When the migrate happened, saw they made a Piracy Lemmy instance and just joined that.

  • Can’t speak for others but I take few day-old accounts and their opinions with a grain of salt. Often it happens that it is just a troll to bait other people.

  • No, not really. An account/ profile is just that. An account to use to interact with said platform.

    Especially on centralized platforms like Reddit, Instagram and such. It just means nothing. Your “karma” on Reddit means nothing, can be manipulated etc. Account can be banned for no reason. Similar on any other platform.

    Neither do I use any of these platforms for friends. I keep the accounts private from my usual real life. If I want to keep in touch with someone, it’ll usually be through WhatsApp.

    If I lose for example the Reddit or Instagram account. That’s okay. Sucks but okay. These platforms are filled with trash and moderated by trash (including the actual CEOs).

  • When you are unable to obtain a "free" copy of something, do y'all just give in and pay for the thing? Or just give up on having the thing altogether?

  • Really depends on what it is but I usually wait until there’s an good sale of said product.

    For example;

    • Persona 3 Reload. Can’t be cracked normally due to Denuvo, so waited until there was a decent sale and then bought it together with a Voucher. So I only costed me €15 instead of the full price.
    • Stellar Blade has Denuvo too but I refuse to purchase it. Doesn’t have a good sale nor do I have any vouchers left.

  • Well, I loved persona 5 Royal and thought I’d love P3R too. I’m 25 hours in and got told around October in game, the game gets better. I’m in July with the game now, so thinking to struggle through it.

  • I never really cared about professional sports and probably never will. Everything of it is overpriced and more often than not the fans of any party are insufferable/ extreme. Hooligans and stuff like that.

    I once started watching LoL eSports (G2 mostly) and even then I found the fans of any club extreme.
