  • Re-enabled experimental wake-on-bluetooth support for Steam Deck LCD, including support for LE peripherals

Just tested this with Xbox Series controllers. They are indeed able to wake up my SD LCD now, whereas only Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers (non BLE) used to work before.

  • I'm one 60 fps performance patch away from returning to AoC !

  • Interesting on paper, but good luck running games with that setup.

If I understand correctly this basically starts a container which itself spawns a VM running windows. Good for running Minesweeper and probably not much else.

  • The short answer is: you don't unfortunately.

You already listed what the options are. The Xbox app and UWP games are not an option on SteamOS, and Windows support is suboptimal. As for Xbox cloud, it's alright as long as you have a good internet access, which kind of defeats the purpose of a handheld.

  • Barely stable 30fps is not smooth as far as I am concerned. The original HW got its 60fps patch, so I'll keep waiting for the same on AoC. And in the meantime I'll steer clear of AoI.

  • Yeah I also like the Hyrule Warriors' take on musou games but I felt kind of burned by Age of Calamity's dreadful performance. I ended up not playing that much of it.

Is there any indication that there will be a performance patch for Age of Calamity on Switch 2 ?

  • I do think 22 is indeed too young and that you should revisit this when you get to your thirties.

Your family believing you will change or mind is irrelevant. Your life and identity is still likely to evolve significantly in the next decade or so, regardless of your current marital situation and current state of mind.

  • Definitely worth it ! Getting rid of the Delta fan high pitch whine certainly made me use my SD more.

  • Announcing your redemption arc before even starting it sounds like a surefire way not to have one.

  • Play BotW first. A few years down the line, if you ever want more and are able to make time for it, play TotK. One should not play them back to back anyway.

  • The kickstarter funds being portrayed as enough to fund the game is the scammy part. It is now revealed that it was in fact seed money to convince investors.

It should have been obvious from the start as 100K or 300K is nowhere near "making a high-profile videogame money".

  • I would argue that a platform mascot has to stay exclusive (or near-exclusive to allow for some weird spinoffs). This would trim down your list significantly: no Doomguy, no Gordon, no Geralt...

In fact none of the big ones would make the cut. Maybe Jill of the Jungle (and Jazz Jackrabbit ?), but they do not have many games to their names. Note even the Elite iconic Cobra ship would fit the bill, as Elite Dangerous was released on consoles.

  • Shame that it will very likely be needed, but good that a company is willing to step up. The GuliKit Hall effect sticks for Switch served me well since I put them in.

  • I did exactly that with gulikit hall effect parts 2 years ago. It's surprisingly easy and indeed fixes drift issues once and for all.

  • Agreed. As long as their corporate overlords do not fuck up Ars, there is no reason to avoid them.

If (when ?) it becomes an AI slop-filled shell of its former self, then it will be past time to go elsewhere.

  • On some trackers you can straight up pay to raise to raise your ratio, or even temporarily "freeleech". This is all kinds of iffy, flirting with the scummy.

  • That's odd, today's the release of the game on all platforms and they give it away on EGS.

    Rationale

For some background information on this: A year ago or more, we sent Epic an alpha, and they loved it. It was the first time we'd shared and received feedback on the game, so it was quite the morale booster for the team. They have a program where there's a kind of "game of the week" on the storefront. We were offered to take part in it for modest compensation, which was an exciting prospect for us, as they typically reach quite a large number of players with this. And we want nothing more than to bring our game to as many people as possible. It's for a very limited time, though.

Game development is a tough business (especially now). We’re hoping to reach a massive audience who will become champions for the game and help it spread through word of mouth, ultimately driving sales.

We hope fans will support us so that we can finance our next title, as our ambition is to build a franchise of truly crazy and ambitious games. 😊 Deliver At All Costs is just the beginning, we have something even crazier in the pipeline, though we’re many years away from that. 🤫

  • No announcement that I'm aware of. Just me hoping.

  • Unfortunately coming from Vermintide 2, I find Darktide to be a step down in most aspects. I went in with my usual coop group at release, expecting this game to last us for hundreds of hours, like VT2 did. We stopped in the tens of hours instead.

I check in every once in a while, but find no compelling reason to keep playing. The one thing DT has over VT2 is that the combat system is more refined. Other than that... No compelling characters, no storyline to speak of, forgettable locations, randomized shops, bad reward loop, no solo play nor proper bot support, ... I could go on.

They have had to rework so much of DT that they added more actual content to VT2 in the meantime. Now I'm hoping for a VT3 bringing the best of both worlds.
