  • You responded to me and told me im drinking too much Kool aid...go be a jackass somewhere else. Jesus, blocked.

  • Yeah, and? This was a conversation about the science. If you want to have a different conversation about how we dont have proper social safety nets, be my guest, and start a different thread elsewhere. You're just changing the argument bcz you know you're wrong.

  • Please, enlighten me on how 50% funding cuts to NASA science budget, and cutting NSF grant funding isn't an attack on science? I'd also like you to further explain to me with your clearly superior big brain how banning all things considered DEI or climate change related, isn't an attack on science..

Clearly, you know more about all the interworkings of this stuff than someone who is involved in this shit.

We are literally in the middle of one of the largest wealth transfers in history right now, driven by dipstick billionaires who are frothing and foaming at the mouth at the prospect of screwing this nation out of all scientific progress we've made, and you wanna tell me im a fucking sucker.

GTFO with your weak sauce arguments.

  • Ya am I? Guess all that first hand experience with it must be a lie..

  • NSF funding cuts, declining enrollment bcz of the ICE crap (people are afraid to come to the U.S.), covid funding issues still being felt, lots of government employees vying for university positions, attacks on science across the board forcing experts to leave the U.S., or go to the private sector. Its bad, and it'll probably get worse.

  • Yes, it's gonna get bad. Jobs in both the private sector, and public sector, universities, etc, we are all feeling the heat right now.

  • Yes, nobody would be that insane to think otherwise...maybe even a reality TV show type of deal would be cool.

  • The last administration didnt try to gut NSF science funding, nasa, our Healthcare, social security, or any of the other dumb crap in the reconciliation bill just passed. If you seriously think the Biden administration was bad, you didnt pay attention. My job, my colleagues jobs are on the line, my partner might lose all funding for her job, my friends are losing their jobs, PBS and NPR facing funding cuts. My grandfather, my uncle, my step father, all potentially losing their disability, social security, etc. People trying to strip us of citizenship, this shit is not normal. The fact that you are trying to equate the two administration's is fucking disingenuous as fuck.

  • I'm not even gonna address your points. We are all frustrated with the state of the U.S.

My point was just that the Trump administration is not better than the alternative. We can all agree on that. If you can't or won't admit that, then you're part of the problem.

  • No it wasn't. That's delusional. We've been slow walking toward fascism for a while, but it wasn't just always there.

  • This isn't about Gaza. We all know that the situation in Gaza is fucked, and the Biden administration wasn't friendly to Gaza. I was pissed as hell at their response. But that doesn't mean bringing fascism home to the U.S. is the solution.

  • You really think you're the smart one in every room you're in dont you?

  • Play them in order, you get more story out of it that way. I promise it will be worth it! BoTW is a master piece, and somehow they topped it with ToTK

  • No, its the boomers still. They created the news networks like Fox News, turned the internet into the cess pool that it is, and drove all of the propaganda that has turned millennial and gen X people into frothing right-wing nut jobs. Maybe in ten years, we can stop saying its the boomers. But they have single handedly been responsible for all of the shit we find ourselves in, the housing bubbles, the student loan crisis, everything. I'll stop saying its the boomers when its no longer a problem of their generations making.

  • No, boomers are responsible for the mess of crap we've found ourselves in. That's why people blame them for it. They voted for "i got mine, and pulled the ladders up that helped them build their wealth and education". That's why we blame them for shit still.

  • You mean you're experience...I dont think i got you wrong at all. You don't want to see these kinds of posts.

  • Thanks will take a look at those. I should ammendment it post. I do game dev with Unreal, another user pointed out that might affect the distro I choose.

  • What's the point of a linux community if you cant ask these kinds of questions? A pinned post like that would get stale over time. You are free to just keep scrolling. You also didn't answer the question...so you contributed nothing except to complain about my post.
