  • I think it’s closely related to people with tens of thousands of emails in their inbox,

    Nope.

I have a half dozen email address, about 20 aliases.

My inbox rarely has even 5 unopened emails.

I have 100+ tabs on desktop, over 100 on phone.

  • I was programming long before PC's existed.

Your paradigm of the world isn't everyone's.

  • Tab History shows every instance of a tab, not just 1 for the 300 times you visited it.

  • Same problem as bookmarks.

  • My bookmarks are organized. Haven't used any of them in 10 years.

It's a great idea that I like, it just doesn't work for me.

    Tabs in the sidebar do.

  • So you admit to doing the same thing.

  • Good for you.

I simply scroll down my tab bar to what I'm looking for.

    I'm down to 130 tabs from 170

  • Because, shockingly, not everyone sees the world the way you do.

Why do people consider the way others do things as flawed, or pathologize the behaviours of others?

    Also, browser history is awful.

  • Hahahaha, right.

  • Major optimism, like everyone was breathing a big sigh of relief.

Bit naive perhaps, but there you are.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

That said, it's still much better today, just that power brokers never change - they just always look for the new way to sell the same old ideas.

The Hapsburgs didn't go away, they just changed team jerseys so people wouldn't realize it was still them.

  • Check into USMobile - they're effectively a reseller of services on all the major networks, for far less. (I pay $17/mo for 2 lines and 4GB of data. If I need more data in a given month, I can get 2GB "extra" for like $5). Larger plans are a better deal, I just don't need more than 4GB right now.

I've traveled across the US using it, and I see it connect to different vendor towers (Verizon, ATT, etc) with 5g a lot of the time.

At home my phone shows US Mobile, as soon as I leave I get Verizon 5G.

  • Hating? Are you sure you're reading that right?

Or maybe criticising/disliking when people make themselves look weird because their ego can't handle the fact we all get older.

I've known people who've had work done, small things, and no one would ever know.

What they didn't do was have their face pulled back so tight at 60 that they look like a caricature of their 20-year-old self.

  • You're kidding me, right?

Cosmetic surgery is far more acceptable in women than men.

  • Well, yea, and so much of it looks unnatural

  • Enable the Funnel feature on your Tailscale.

  • Exactly.

Practically every piece of "lifetime" software I've paid for has gone this route.

  • Oh no, someone else could possibly play media from my media server, if they have the exact link for it!

Yea, not ideal, but not exactly the end of the world.

  • Doing it safely is pretty simple.

Install Tailscale at both ends. Done.

It's a fully encrypted mesh VPN.

If you need access without the TS client on the other end, that takes a little more work. Then you need to enable the Funnel option.
