  • Two of my previous instances disappeared, another banned a community I wanted to have access to. Had to pick between two large ones to avoid that. One was full of authoritarian, genocidal tankies. Ended in world

  • Th, actually. I saw somebody writing like this and I assumed it was a language thing

  • One of the new devs spent a week refactoring some code that was removed from main the same day he checked out. We told him to focus on a specific set of scripts, but he wanted to go there extra mile. Poor soul

  • How?

    Jump
  • building an inclusive model that allows for backwards compatibility with the system it's meant to replace.

That's honestly a terrible approach and defeats the porpoises. For example, screen recording. You can't be "backwards compatible" (aka any app can record at any time) and have them ask for permission (the honestly better way to go).

Bear in mind, Wayland devs didn't force anything. They offered an alternative to X and the distros chose that after evaluating pros and cons.

Pick a distro that aligns with your needs like we all do.

  • I finally booted windows because Expedition 33's performance in Linux was bad, only to realize it was the sane on windows.

Actually there's a game, the Alters, that crashed on my desktop Linux (works on deck) and had to play in windows. There was some workaround somewhere, but didn't try.

  • AFAIK, Epic hasn't enabled anti cheat to work on Linux. Their own anti cheat has native support for Linux, but they themselves don't want to use it.

  • Before this much later could be days, and we all just joked about how slow she was to answer in general. Just how she was.. That + distance made it so that I didn't realize something was off for some time. Then I reached to common friends and heard similar stories.

We are late 30s-40s, so with work, kids... It's way too easy to just move on and "forget" that you haven't heard from somebody in months I guess.

  • Read my messages and read your message. Everything about what her family does or care is 100% made up by you. You then went with that made up facts to explain the rest.

Don't you realize you're just adding your own imagination into the mix?

  • I'm the one who moved, not her.

Rest is also mostly an invention in your side, but not believing at face value someone somebody said on the internet is generally a good practice.

    Thanks anyway.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Should I try to reconnect with a friend who's chosen to self isolate?

  • Is it the ml service? I an thinking to deploy on the much more powerful desktop and temporarily point the server to it.

  • You mean the largest retailer in America has customers?

    I'm shocked. SHOCKED!

i personally never go there. But I live 7 timezones away from the nearest one.

  • I always wondered why parkside was so much cheaper in ~aldi~ lidl vs other stores. Pretty decent for casual usage honestly.

Specially now that Amazon is flooded with ewaste is my affordable go to brand.

  • Do you have a guide to replicate? I have a half broken pixel 7 that might work for something like this

  • If you can eat it, then it's edible.

    Change my pythonic mind.

  • Change to -2 if possible

  • How did you connect a 3.5 externally? Sata to mini PC and power from the PSU?

  • The salad is the calf's food. If you order a salad, they literally take the food from a calf and doesn't eat anything else for the day. You monster

  • How/to what are the drives below connected to?

  • Selfhosted @lemmy.world

rootless backup of rootless podman volumes?

  • Linux @lemmy.ml

Pasting images in Flatpak applications, what permissions are needed?
