Some nerd that likes open-source

  • TLDR;

    1. Mastodon Hasn’t Appealed to the Masses
    2. Ordinary Users Often Find Mastodon Difficult to Use
    3. Twitter Is Well-Established
    4. Mastodon’s Business Model Might Not Be Enough to Compete With X
    5. Mastodon’s Growth Has Slowed Down
    6. Users Sometimes Have to Wait to Join Mastodon Instances
  • Damn I was close. I knew it was something to do with filesystems. Thanks

  • I haven't used it in a few years either but I always see blog post and updates from the team. It seems like they've made a lot of progress

  • I've been so excited anytime I see updates from gnome-mobile. It's looks much cleaner than phosh

  • Fedora made me stop hopping.

  • God I hope

  • I'm very excited for more developments from matrix

  • I feel this. They already released the new OLED model. If/when they make a 2nd deck I'd want it so be a noticable upgrade

  • What that?

  • Native apps can give better performance and take up less resources. But to be honest I just miss the good ol days. I mean back then the web browser was the main thing you'd open on your PC but now it's pretty much the only thing

  • I remember a few years ago people got destiny 2 to work on Linux and Bungie banned those players. Fuck Bungie

  • nix is 20 years old?!? I thought it was relatively new like maybe 10 years old

  • Yeah it's crazy to me that proprietary standers exists at all but they're everywhere

    1. Open source
    2. Federated
    3. Community driven and ran
    4. I hate supporting and being fucked in the ass by corporations

I think if the population was just slightly smarter and less submissive then more people would use and support open source software. I don't even mean lemmy, just OSS in general

  • One of the gems I've found is to your eternity. Still has some annoying ass anime voices but it's a really unique story and almost every episode will make me cry no matter how many times I watch it.

  • Used to love anime but now that I'm older I dislike it. Still love reading manga, just hate the high pitch annoying ass voice for every female character. A few anime's don't do it and those ones I still love

  • I still haven't bought one yet, I want to so bad tho

  • Isn't not hard to do
