  • I think that is the experience for anyone who doesn't present as a gender conforming man who is conventionally attractive though usually when men do it towards me as a very femme presenting woman, it comes with some awful behaviour.

  • alternatively you could use your imagination. get used to it without porn and you'll have better sex too.

  • me and my friends used to be regulars in a shitty pub where there was a group of older people who would be in there all day every day.

he was probably double my age but it didn't stop him coming over to our table and pestering me and some of the other women.

we didn't go in too frequently but the staff recognised us as regulars. we had to stop because some nasty people would come in on a specific day and one of our group wqs afraid of running into them.

  • I completely agree. anti-Deutsch have be3j internationally condemned

  • its a bit more complex, sadly. german antifascist groups have been leaning towards being very zionist

  • Yeah. I mean, it demonstrates that the wrong hormones do that ig

  • I know its on Reddit and he is a bit of a crank but Dr Will Powers tried to do an "unofficial" study into it. His account is probably worth a read.

  • While I won't tell people exactly what to search, I can guarantee that I can find malware first try on Google Play. Google Play Integrity is just as dodgy.

  • It has less eyes on it due to it being less popular. It also introduces an extra vector of attack.

  • That assumes that it is a neutral act and an act based souly on who hit first. It leads to some serious moral consequences to work based on the schoolyard politics of, "But miiiissss, he hit me first"

  • I'm opposed to violence, however I define it differently to how the state does. One example of violence that wouldn't be considered by the state to be violence is calling the cops.

Violence is a hierarchy and as soon as you understand that, the more you understand it as a meaningless term.

  • I think I'm just gonna tag you as a misogynist with my Lemmy client and move on with my day. Maybe less demanding women debate you in the marketplace of ideas might be good for you. This is weird and beggy.

  • Are you actually trying to say you are not a misogynist while simultaneously calling a woman hysterical? Did you know that the Greek word for womb is "hystera"?

  • Christ - some of these replies are exactly what a lot of women talk about when we say that Lemmy has a misogyny problem.

Blokes really don't recognize how much harder shit actually is for women, overall. It would be lovely to just sit on a bench for 5 mins without a stranger coming to chat me up, or if people would stop crediting men for my work when they don't even ask for it.

  • I know someone who does business IT where the ISP were trying to charge a huge amount to connect fibre to one of their sites. Thankfully, they had another site a few miles away that was already connected. They found it was cheaper to stick a pole on each building with an omnidirectional WiFi antenna. Apparently the speeds weren't too bad even though ping often left a little to be desired.

  • If you want a detailed response to this, reading Michel Foucault would probably be better than anything I could really say. He is a bit of a weirdo (putting it likely) like plenty of philosophers though.

  • Only ever had one of these, but I wasn't popular in school, and the vibe of person I have hung out since then are too anticapitalist for the most part.

  • Most of it tends to be where a woman will mention experiencing something disproportionately, as a woman, and there will always be a man in the replies saying that men experience it to.

There is a recurring thing on poor consent towards women's bodies too, particularly whenever SWers are mentioned. That's more of a carry over from Reddit though.

  • I didn't use Reddit towards the end so I might be a bit wrong but overall it feels a lot more likely that you will bump into the same people on here. Its nice that you don't really get your karma farming GallowBoob types.

The misogyny on here seems more intense though even if the mods and admins are more on top of it.
