  • I use it since v2 and became an instant fanboy. Back then there was only the full version. I probably don't use all the features all the time, but it's so much fun to play around, discover sounds, modulate stuff, chain up effects and build little machines. It's such an advanced piece of software, compared to any other DAW. So if you can spare the 300 bucks, then go for the full version! It's definitely worth it and on summer sale right now.

  • I had many VSTs on Windows. After making the switch to Linux, ported them using Yabridge. But I kept using them less and less. Now I'm on Bigwig and I hardly use any third party VSTs at all. Hell, I don't even use 99% of my samples because Bitwig is so versatile. I usually take their native stuff and tweak it to my likings, and fast! So even if that is not what you asked, I recommend leaving it all behind and start fresh with just Bitwig. It really doesn't need anything else to make music on Linux. And it feels great to let go of all the digital baggage.

  • A subscription model for hardware like bikes or washing machines would be interesting. If it breaks, someone will come and repair it. But subscription for software is a scam. I switched to open source solutions because fuck'em, that's why! Breaking up with Adobe is pretty great. :)

  • I was an idiot and read it as .ro for Romania. Of course I know about Russia and the war.Still I also wouldn't comment on people posting .com-links, even though the US are fighting endless illegal wars for decades and the president is wrecking democracy for a police state.

  • Why?

  • This was cooler than I expected

  • I have 1/3 of a 1 TB SSD for Windows, Linux and a free partition for random stuff each. With home finally on a second 2 TB SSD. This is great, so far.

  • I used to say that when I was younger. But power vacuums fill up fast with brutal assholes. It took us centuries come up with ideas to balance power and obviously we're not done yet. But abolishing hierarchies will lead to utter chaos. There is no species without it.States are a mistake though, I agree with that. :)

  • Rogue empire

  • My playlists get sprinkled with a little Ancient FM: Music of the mediæval and renaissance eras.

  • Impressive! I've quoted this from memory for at least a decade. I used to listen to him when I went to sleep. :)

  • "My Chancellor said we should not indulge in superficial anti-Americanism now, but I assure you:Mine is not superficial at all!"

  • This is not a book, but files to use in some kind of dictionary-app. AA is not a place for these kind of files, I'm pretty sure they won't allow them over there.

  • The Fall of Civilizations is hauntingly beautiful

  • Ask around. Many people have sourdough and love to share it!

  • I can't decide between Fooyin and Rhythmbox. I'd love to stick with Rhythmbox, but I really miss waveform view.

  • I'll once again post this, keep swiping

  • Say the word!

  • I read an interview with the guy, he said that there are only a few fallen civilizations left to talk about and that he wants to end his podcast with an episode about us and our (first time ever) global civilization. Looking forward to that.On the other hand, I read and listened to Kim Stanley Robinson a lot. In this podcast, he explains why he doesn't want to write dystopian novels, that they comfortably trap our mind. That we need utopian stories to not give up and let them™ win. I think he has a point.
