  • You're acting like it's a physical impossibility...

Why would it be a physical impossibility? Doesn't seem to be for me. Or have I just thought what I do is hugging while in reality it's not? Please elaborate.

Men secure in their own masculinity don't have any problems hugging other men. And insecure men likely have toxic traits that make them bad friends.

Yes. How many men are secure in their masculinity? 5%? If the remaining 95 % can only have those 5 % as their friends, how do they find sufficient time for all that friendship?

For most men non-toxic men are not available for friendships. And especially: I don't want to be friends with a toxic asshole, regardless of how much he moght (unbeknownst to himself...) need my friendship.

  • Most have no idea they need a hug.

They don't want to because it would be gay. They want to be real men. And they feel sad and lonely and lost. If someone somehow got them to understand that all we men really need to do in order to be actually happy is to hug each other, this world would stop being a nightmare for us all.

  • That's not really enough.

Also, such a small part of men are able to hug other men that if everybody needed to have those few as their friends, they'd very quickly run out of friendship capacity.

  • I have never seen a school running anything else than Windows.

  • Of course, on Lemmy things also depend on your instance. I got banned fromba group by a mod that is at the same time a lemmy.ml admin for mentioning that China is putting Uyghyrs to concentration camps.

On lemmy.ml you can get banned for things you wouldn't get elsewhere. The solution for that is to join a group for the same theme but hosted on another instance. I'm in three communities hosted on .ml, because their alternatives are not active enough. But, of course I always prefer the non-.ml alternative when available.

  • Duh.

But what does that marketing include?

This 39-year-old north-European doesn't seem to get reached by Apple's marketing at all.

  • The previous president of Finland, Sauli Niinistö is currently 77-year-old and his firstborn is 7.

That means the child will see his dad die at a far too young age, most likely. But otherwise, meh. He'll be a different kind of father, but a good father all the same.

The question: how angry would he be if his father was 25 years older than he actually is? Would he prefer not having been born at all under such circumstances? I bet he wouldn't oppose his own existence, for such a reason at least. And neither will his child.

  • How does that telling happen, actually?

  • "All cops' fathers have been married to people other than the cops' mothers during conception"? Is that what "Out of wedlock" means? So, basically ACFHBMTPOTTCMDC?

  • Isn't that the translation of ACAE, though? 🙃

You have a printing error in the right side of the B!

  • How about KPOÄ 🤣

That would mean "bastards", but only in the literal sense, meaning that "No policeman knows who their father is."

  • Finnish, Swedish, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Russian, English. Plus, Polish and Norwegian would go mostly right.

    So, apparently 12.

However, I can say "I am am apple" in 30 languages. Much more useful.

  • Paskiaisia.

  • My kids' first electronic device was an android tablet for playing Ekapeli.

Then my phone for pretty much the same.

And now the bigger one is playing Minecraft on my desktop computer. (So that they would get fluent in using a mouse and develop their eye-hand-coördination. But they don't know that 🤫)

  • Sonic.

I've been trying to like them when they were published, but no. It's not really much fun.

  • I don't really agree that people in general are awful, but we do all have our awful sides.

And indeed, people who really know how to get to the top and stay there tend to almost always have skills and a mindset that steer them towards dictatorship.

  • There is no true socialism under dictatorship.

    I agree.

Lenin was probably the worst thing that has happened to socialism. I wonder if he managed to taint it for good?

  • Also, when you have fixed pricing on products, there's suddenly no reliable feedback on what people really need. Now you can gauge it from how much they are ready to pay for a product, but with fixed pricing that is lost. And then the factories are constantly producing too much of something or too little of it.

And especially when it constantly happens that there is too little of this and that, a black market is practically sure to appear to get people what they need. And that grows corruption that then destroys the rest. Hooray.

Of course you can just ask people if they would want to have __________. But often they answer "yes" to things they won't bother to get anyway or "no" to things they will actually end up liking once their friends notice how nice they are. So, in reality that doesn't really help. You can also build some very advanced computer system that follows everyone in realtime and always guesses with a high precision what the people need at each time. But then we have a very horrible system where we are being spied on every moment. Not what I want, either.

If this problem doesn't get tackled, socialism cannot work.
