  • Yeah, I'm getting very sick of these "free speech" types. Like, I don't want to create an echo chamber, but, seriously, we don't to hear the goddamn Nazi point of view. Platforming that sort of thing normalizes it. Mainstream platforms won't even permaban stochastic terrorists like LibsOfTiktok. In fact, social media platforms carry much of the blame for the divisiveness in society these days. That's why the Beehaw project is important. We need to show the world that there's a better way to do things. That it's possible to disagree with someone without being at each other's throats, entertaining dissenting opinions and perhaps reconsidering one's stance on things, and growing as a person by widening the pool of experiences one is exposed to. For example, I used to be a vague "libertarian" type, but my position has evolved to the point where I'm a left-wing anarchist now. People can change for the better. Again, I'm not saying we should listen to the ultra right wing's point of view, but I bet there's tons of people out there in their own little bubbles who have never left their homogeneous communities and have never heard the stories of the marginalized. We may not be able to change everyone's minds. But if we can change some, well, that's a win for all of us.

  • I'll list some of my favorites that haven't been posted yet:

    -TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect

    -Onimusha series

    -Dynasty Warriors series

    -Soulcalibur II and III

    -Tekken(any of them)

    -Burnout 3

    -OutRun 2006 Coast2Coast

    -Simpsons Hit and Run

    -Dark Cloud I and II

    -Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

    -Ace Combat 4

  • Pretty crappy, really, I've been laid low with what is most likely a flu since Tuesday. I'm still sick, but I think I'm getting better now. At least it doesn't seem to be covid(I took two tests and both came back negative).

  • All that work people put in to create this and it's all going to disappear because of corporate greed. I wanted to see Coyote vs. Acme, but I guess I never will.

  • I live in the area; maybe we could meet up some day?

  • That's a classic right there.

  • I really hope it was Billy that caved and not TG. Dude really is awful in quite a few ways.

If anyone wants a ridiculously long deep dive on the Billy Mitchell stuff(and is willing to read instead of watching a video), I recommend checking out this. There's also on that website a huge deep dive into the story about his alleged "perfect Pacman" run, and his history of gaslighting the classic gaming community into thinking he was the greatest gamer ever.

  • I couldn't get past the second area(I think?)of Cuphead, there was a dragon boss that was just a wall for me.

  • This isn't surprising in the least. They've been pushing more and more ads recently; trying to get streamers to run them more often. I hate ads, so I have always opted for a short pre-roll so that when its done, viewers won't have to worry about ads anymore. But I think Twitch will eventually force streamers to run ads every half hour, no matter how many people they scare off.

  • Ugh, if this goes through, we'll be down to what, four Hollywood major studios now? (WB-Paramount, Disney, Universal, Sony) Yikes.

  • I got an entirely new gaming rig up and running (Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Radeon RX 6700) so I thought I'd grab a couple more recent games to push it a bit, as I had a potato before. Been having a lot of fun with Forza Horizon 5 and the World Tour mode of Street Fighter 6. Thinking about maining Juri in SF6, she's fun to play.

  • Sometimes you just need to throw some hands to prevent worse violence down the line. It isn't a perfect world and we're a bunch of upjumped apes. I'm not saying we shouldn't try to be better than that, but we should at least be realistic about the hand we've been dealt. That being said, perhaps you're right about going the restorative justice route. I just worry because, this is getting normalized way past what anyone should feel comfortable about. Like, I feel we should do everything we can to prevent people from becoming Nazis. If naming and shaming deters people from going down that rabbit hole, I think we at least have to consider it.

  • In 99% of cases, you would be correct. However, these are Neo-Nazis we're talking about here. Like, if they got their way, I'd be dead, so so would a lot of other innocent people. Their ideology has caused unspeakable horrors, and it'll happen again if we let our guard down. There has to be a social cost to being a Nazi. Like, this shit is getting way too close to the right wing mainstream. This isn't a matter of just "people we don't like". They're dangerous. Name them. Shame them. Ruin their lives. Force their evil ideology back into the deep, dark fringes where it belongs.

  • Look, we all know that Hexbear is questionable. There's a reason we defederated from them. But let's not go around throwing terms like "fascism" around like they don't mean anything. We all know Hexbear is full of Marxist-Leninist trolls. We know.

  • Wow, this is super cool.

  • This entire comment is fundamentally not nice. Even disregarding the first part, the fact that you go to this much trouble to express your revulsion of furries is rather mean spirited. Like, I'm not a furry, but imagine being one and reading what you just wrote. There is no reason why you couldn't have kept that to yourself. Try to be a bit more understanding, yeah?

  • It's alright, just basically Twitter 2. It's useful for some things. A lot of creatives chose to migrate there, which is nice so that I can network with fellow Twitch streamers and keep up with news on the platform. As much as I like Mastodon, I just wasn't getting that there. It's also nice that a bunch of artists I used to follow are there.
