  • taco bell in particular is embracing the kiosks and it's wonderful. they have signs in the lobby saying 'order at the kiosk' even. and why wouldn't you? why do people in the US have this pig-like stubbornness where they must have a human stand there and 'PeRsONaLIze tHE iNtERacTion' or some shit

  • cutting back spending is hard when it's one of the main ways to feel joy; you already have to spend on groceries and bills anyway, and it feels that much more stark and grim denying yourself the fun foods and nice convenience items to save like $10, then your rent goes up $50 because they said so, and so what's the point anyhow...

  • i remember growing up I'd literally get a buzz off a good thread or from reeling off a good post. it felt so incredible being able to communicate with people across the world and be taken seriously, evaluated on the merits of my words rather than dismissed due to age or race or anything. and most of all, it felt like this special secret between you and other dorks. now everyone has phones in their pocket. going on twitter is like going to mcdonals.

  • depends on how busy it was and/or how good of a mood i was in. i worked at a pizza place and would usually try to hook people up as reasonably as possible (not charge someone if they were taking off a topping then adding a topping even tho you were meant to, giving like 8 cheese cups if they ordered 5 (mood/rush/etc dependent), ample extra toppings if they were nice, etc)
