Ah yes, the famously communist Russian Federation. The RF is nakedly an imperial fascist regime that doesn’t even have communist window dressing, it boggles the mind that self-proclaimed communists and anti-imperialists support them.

  • This works great with @[email protected]s tip regarding the flexibility of our tongues.

Btw, the noses (so called becherocells) just create the slime (glycoproteins) to catch and bind bacteria entering from the outside, they (luckily) don't create bacteria on their own.

  • And there always will be cheaters. If running a cheat on the local machine doesn't work anymore, there is nothing stopping someone hooking up an SoC running a inference model analysing your screen and sending inputs to an usb-dongle that emulates mouse input. Can probably be Mass manufactured cheaper than those inflated price tags on those games.

  • I love cat quest, can also recommend the 3 Games for 2 player couch coop with low stakes on PC!

  • Lichtspeer is a nice time waster, Roundguard is a Peggle-Roguelike. For on the go I can recommend Krumit's Tale, Meteorfall, You must build a Boat, Hoplite, Shattered Pixel Dungeon , Reigns, Slay the Spire. I can also recommend Cryings Suns, Stardew Valley (of course) and Yes, your Grace.

Most are paid, but if you want to try a lot, get yourself a month of Play pass where most are included.

  • Crying Suns falls into this category, being a FTL/Pauseable RTS mix

  • I found a few missing!

I personally loved Sunshine. if you are into Scifi; it's not Interstellar, but it's great in it's own right.

Then there are movies that are so bad that they come out on top, the Sharknado series fill that spot for me.

I'm also a big fan of The Machinist, seeing what actors do to their bodies opened my eyes to the dedication they show.

A movie that was so full of suspense for me that I couldn't watch it to the end in one sitting was The Hunt (2012), a Danish film about Mass Hysteria in a small village after someone gets falsely accused of child molestation.

All other movies that I can recommend are already mentioned in the other lists, and I've saved this whole thread for the huge amount of movies I'm still missing.

  • Thats just the first round of IP law vs AI Corpos. I'm really interested if this process will fix the broken copyright system or fix the AI Corpos - one of the two has to give.

  • Apparently they adapted the title of the youtube clip:

“Yeah, I’m sure he’s in there,” Collins said, without providing evidence, according to an audio clip of the exchange uploaded to YouTube, titled, “HOT MIC: Republican caught saying Trump IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES!”

  • Right now i play "A Game about digging a Hole". I feel very dwarfy rn.

  • If you survived university this long, you must either be really good at cheating or you have imposter syndrome. My now Ex-wife graduated in a medical field 10 years ago, and the first year of her job she thought that she doesn't know enough. Then she realized how the others around her worked, and came to the conclusion that she had enough knowledge to use her critical thinking and to know where to look something up if she didn't know it. In the working world, noone has an issue with you looking something up you don't know by heart.

Also, i can only mirror what others here said - get on Github and find a project that interests you, or try modding a game you really like; It doesn't only mean you get practice, but also gives you the self assurance you are currently lacking.

  • I'm sorry for you mate, i can feel your pain (I'm twice operated on my L5S1 disc, and struggled years with the pain). Get a second opinion. in the meantime it's important to make sure your muscles in that area keep up - Just stay active, don't do nothing, because that will make it worse long time.

don't pick up heavy weights (avoid anything above 5kg without that MRI). Make sure you lie good in bed; if the slipped disc is in the lumbar area, sleep either with legs up (just as you would in a chair, 90° angles in hip and knee), or sleep on the side with something between your knees so that your legs stay parallel. if it's in the neck area, i heard that neck pillows work pretty well. If your bed is very soft, or the mattress is already heavily worn (or the "ladder-thingy" the mattress lies on) that's not so good for the spine - so if a replacement bed is already on the horizon, maybe prioritize that.

Most slipped discs get better over time - the material that presses on the nerves gets reabsorbed, so you've got that going for you.

  • Fashion compliments if you see someone wearing a cool shirt or a good looking style, makes the day of the person, even if no followup conversation happens! (i got a compliment regarding a shirt once, and i am still thinking back to that - it's been years)

  • Clippy already was a big step in the wrong direction from Microsoft, i'm not gonna celebrate mistakes of the past because they seem benign in comparison to todays mistakes.

  • The Fitgirl Repack is the 2020 version. There is a portable version released by Digitalzone (Archive size 9.49GB, based on the online-fix.me p2p release), which works online, but still needs a microsoft account according to release notes (so a burner account is preferable). Haven't tried it, but the Digitalzone portables i did try in the past all worked well so i expect the same here.

  • There are analog clocks that move the minute hand only when the next minute starts. But to be honest, you might profit from a little less rigidity in your "time usage" - it's good for your mental health to not plan everything down to the minute. If i make a private appointment, i try to set time windows of 10-15 minutes for meetups; i aim for the beginning of the window, and if i get delayed it's of no consequence, and for longer delays i would message anyways.

Can you imagine that it's not so long ago that people called a phone number that told you what time it will be at the next signal tone so you can set your clock?

    1. yup, link aggregator / forum site that is not controllable by a corpo or single individuals
    2. hard to measure, but here you can see a bit more info regarding activity on the lemmy part of the fediverse. 3)for sure. pros of lemmy: you don't get drowned out if you comment by a horde of meme comments, discourse is mostly civil and a lot more real discussion takes place in comparison to reddit. Lemmy also has a lot of apps that reddit lost.
  • Since "chaotic neutral" includes the mentally deranged and insane, your description is apt. But for once I agree with 4chan - if the UK don't want to see it, they will have to close their eyes.

  • Therapy while being on ketamine i think. Seems to work pretty well in particularly stubborn depression.

edit: DONT just jump into the k-hole before you head to your therapist. Find a therapist who is willing to do that before.

  • The word that pops up in my mind when i read this is "sabotage"
