  • No you're fine, I appreciate what you're trying to tell me and I definitely will try to follow what you've said. I'm curious though as how would you try to watch your diet? I have a really really bad food control cause food has been my stress reliever and how can one be consistent in having smaller portions? Like for me, I tried to really eat a smaller portion but its just that I end eating bigger portions because idk I feel depressed and I'd just be thinking of the food more than the goals I'd like to achieve if that makes sense

  • I agree, it is definitely skewing how I perceive the age vs relationship when I see a lot of people who've been in relationships multiple times before they hit 25 when I moved to the US when I was like 19. Other things that could be skewing how I perceive is how I think I look which is another reason why I am trying to lose weight as well. Thank you for your reply tho, I really appreciate it.

  • Thanks for responding to my post! It’s just that, I come from an immigrant background and I never really had the chance to date tbh. It’s just my thinking is that the longer it’ll take to find someone the more likely I’ll be seen as a walking red flag. Sure I’ll hopefully be in a good position career wise, great social life but never having had dated anyone isn’t a good look. It’s just in my experience a lot of people brushed me off cause of that so it just makes me feel trapped I guess. That’s why I felt that it’ll be too late.

  • There is another thing I want to mention is like how do people find dates? I don’t wanna sound like I’m whining or anything but dating apps never worked for me so I was wondering like how do you meet your potential dates in-person like at bars? Sorry if it sounds dumb but I’ve had a hard time with that so I thought why don’t I would just genuinely ask about it?

  • You can! There is a RSS logo you can click on when you’re on the desktop version on Lemmy.

  • Let’s hope this fight goes on for a long time and neither of them touch Mastodon and the rest of the Fediverse

  • Reddit unironically gives me 1984 as it’s about to get worse from here on out.

  • I clicked that link and thank God the server didn't respond. I was actually thinking that someone made the link to newcomers on July 1st not the stuff of nightmares that still haunts me to this day

  • You could try to untick the show read posts on your profile. That helped my viewing experience even I am on either hot or active.

  • I think you might find that answer through lemmy's github and using their guides which I'll send it here in case anyone else is interested.

  • futebol is lyfeeeeeee

  • Personally think it would be more reasonable to have rust at this instance. https://programming.dev/c/rust

I hope the devs might make a pin at a directory of communities they can join like a unified directory of all instances and in those instances, the communities they have. I think that way rather than seeing the most popular instances, users would join those communities from their instance however the popularity of such an instance and community can sometimes act identifier for making decisions which instance they would join in also which community. So idk like maybe having a directory by interest might help others to encourage to join those communities from their home instance rather than registering as new user at every instance.

  • Honestly its for the best, redditors would be rude af and incel-like as well. It was annoying to dealing with those people every time there was a talk of relationships and gender rather than thinking also approaching about those topics with empathy, respect, kindness and critically as well. I'd like to think of this as a new start where all of us can learn from the mistakes that were made in Reddit and make this a better place for everyone.

  • I could see why you'd say that. The comparison I was trying to make was more so towards how easy it to take advantage of the Fediverse in Lemmy than in Mastodon. At Mastodon, I wanted to interact with other servers and their timelines, it seemed to me it was a convoluted mess rather than seeing what I want to see.

  • I like it here a lot more than Mastodon and its so much easier to go and subscribe to other communities at other nodes/servers also to engage in other servers as well. Mastodon was a little more complicated, you do that but it was a little fincky IMO and of course I love Lemmy more than Reddit and I hope it blows up also stays that way too lol (RIP all the servers)

  • Isn’t it alfalfa that’s literally using up a very significant amount of the already very scarce water resources in the Southwest?
