  • That's why. My folks still have cable and pay for HBO. That's how me and my siblings are able to watch stuff we don't want to download on max :)

My dad jokes that hes happy he knows how to turn on his phone ... Now his TV since that's "too complicated"

  • How technical is your dad?

Also honestly. Sometimes it's a lot nicer to just push a button and have something come on.

One of the main reasons I use Plex is their random feature. "Wanna watch a syndicated episodic show and don't care which ep? Press random" vs other streaming services you have to actually choose an episode.

How long does it take for neurotypical (or just typical) people to get over a minor fight?

  • Yeah. But she wanted to carry a really small purse that wouldn't be able to hold the foldable :(

  • After an impromptu upscale bar/lounge crawl with the wifey the other day.....

A shoe that can easily go back and forth from high heel/wedge to comfortable flats w/o much, if any, tooling or carrying around extra parts. She also brought a clutch purse

Wifey was dead the next day from foot pain of walking between places.

  • It is a religious practice for Jews ... I completely agree with your point of it being a "health fad" for non-jews though.

  • More popular, more commercially successful, and more accessible to casual fans. Agreed.

But for magnum opus, I gotta agree with the wall for a few reasons

    1. They made a movie out of it
    2. The ode to the intense para social relationships that revolve around stardom and how a truly crazy creative can take advantage of it in scary ways was not only true back then, but predictive of how much worse it would get in current time.
    3. DSotM always seemed like a lot of good ideas in an unordered list. I felt like they could be scrambled and the album would be similar, except for the first and last songs.. Meanwhile the wall tells a story of pain, alienation, search for meaning, lashing out, and then a quest for self-forgiveness.
  • Regardless, I switched off brave because I was tired of getting ads in the browser. Been using ff for a while now

  • This is going to sound stereotypical, and I don't smoke often. But last time I had a good high going, the Grateful Dead album, "American Beauty", came on my music album shuffle and just instantly got me in the right mood.

How To Unmap/remap an album/tracks in Lidarr?

  • Mine also allows you to see each voicemail in your acct inbox and play/delete/call back each one like a song on a media player.

There's still the cell providers limit on how many voicemails are allowed though. Better to use Google voice and have unlimited voice mail

  • I've tried this. Guy next to me was playing a video game on full blast that I can hear over my noise cancelling headphones. I asked him if he could turn the sound down.

He said "F you! This is my console. I do what I want! You're the only one complaining so shut the f up".....

  • This and caffeine

Wife thinks I'm being lazy bc I crash and don't help with baby on weekend mornings .. I call her lazy when she falls asleep after I put the toddler to bed on weekdays.

    We have a happy marriage.

  • Why a restaurant for the service.

Between my wife and I we can make a lot of good staples (roasted chicken, beef and potatoes, etc.) but we're not masters of the kitchen by any stretch.

You go to a restaurant to have someone else make the dinner and hopefully they are better than you are to make something tastier. As a side you don't have to deal with cleaning dishes.

That and hopefully they have a good wait staff to liven up things

  • Iirc it's that they find Scotty from OG through plot magic and he complains about synthehol not being scotch.

Data says someone else (guinan?) Has a bottle or two stowed somewhere of something similar....

  • In real life you have to make your own food, make your own drinks, use your own plates/glasses/etc. and deal with cleanup.

In ds9 the replicator does everything for you.

    But I get your point

    Thanks!

  • This makes much more sense. On my first run through of ds9 and this has been bothering me

  • Ok so next question. If the computer can magically create anything. And they are on almost all space stations (including cardassian/federation ones) what's the point of a bar?

Gambling makes sense. Paying for food/drink when you have a replicator doesn't.

  • Right, I get that. I'm just thinking that the song isn't about racism. Other than the fact that he's black and has the black man's blues. If the song was talking about his life as a black man or how he ended up a bum that would be different. But it's the way a child sees a black guy with killer guitar playing skills. Very innocent
