  • I like it for a lot of reasons, but the lack of right angles makes interior decoration a nightmare.

Almost every angle in the house is like 60 degrees, which doesn't play well with mostly rectangular furniture.

  • You misunderstand. It's Siberia that is trans. They're just the orchestra.

  • I have had many wonderful cats in my life, and I do not currently have a cat, and I have not had one for some time.

Maybe I should get a cat.

  • I thought about something like that because I live in a geodesic dome home and it would be really great to be able to program my house to look like a gumdrop for Christmas, or a pumpkin or a skull for Halloween.

I'm just worried that I would annoy the shit out of my neighbors in the process.

  • already have one actually really like it next game on the list is Zelda a link to the past

  • I have never had the patience for Lego.

I remember trying to do, like, when I was a kid, and just getting really frustrated at the directions, and just making swords and other fun stuff instead.

Which is weird because I really enjoy assembling Ikea stuff, and I'm very good at it.

  • If you had to pick one of those for a newcomer to get into, which one would you recommend?

  • There is a trick.

If you're a guy and you have a scraggly beard, and you really want it to fill out, and it's gonna sound fucking crazy, but Rogaine.

Over the counter Rogaine, monoxidil shampoo.

Wash the area that you want to have a beard with it and in many cases your beard will grow in.

The good thing about that is, is that once your beard grows in, it will stay grown in.

Of course, be careful with it.

1: I'm just some person on the internet relaying information that other people have relayed to me. I have not done this myself, so take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt

2: You don't want to start growing hair in places that you don't want to start growing hair in, and Rogaine, Minoxidil, will increase the amount of hair that your body grows wherever it lands over a long enough time period, so be careful where you wash your body with the Rogaine.

A further caveat is that the area must have hair to begin with. It will not make your palms grow hair because you do not have hair follicles there, and it won't work for everyone because all it does is prevent DHT from attacking the hair follicles, but that can be the space that those hair follicles need to get stronger and to start growing in a thicker beard.

  • Back when Zoom trials were a huge thing some of the law firms I worked with had the lawyers put on makeup because better looking people do better in court and it worked.

I saw a couple of firms have record settlements and judgments in their favor, in part because they were the better dressed, better looking, more well put together, side.

I'm sure the confidence boost of looking their best while being in a high stakes trial also helped.

  • Reaching out from time to time, initiating conversation, sending a random stupid meme, something, anything to just keep communication and contact functioning.

  • There's also FLYOOBE, which will let you do stuff like uninstall a bunch of the apps that are installed by default, disable AI shit, and set some of your basic interface settings all in one relatively convenient application.

  • I don't use it at all directly, but occasionally an answer generated on Reddit will pop up on a search I'm doing on a different site

  • I use Raccoon.

    It's pretty good.

There's a lot of complexity to the settings, and it's not exactly intuitive to find which section does what, so there was a lot of trial and error getting it set up.

But now that I have it set up, it works for me perfectly. It's not quite where Reddit is Fun was, but it's close enough.

The one thing that I wish could be added would be some sort of like system where posts or entire communities could be labeled with a category and that you could block or follow those categories.

Technology, music, politics, memes, NSFW, like each and every single broad topic could be a category, and then the magazines would align themselves to that accordingly.

I, for one, get all of my political news from other sources. I do not need it from Lemmy, and so I would love it if I could block Lemme's political sections in a fell swoop.

Even though I have blocked dozens of political magazines and politics bots and posters, and bammed several key words, I still get political memes that pop up and political discussions that pop up, and I wish I could just blanket ban all of them.

  • This would definitely be magic or some sort of supernatural event on par with a god, and gods laugh at paradoxes.

  • Go somewhere outside of your home where you can be comfortable. Only go to that place when you're studying.

  • I'd be surprised if there wasn't an FFMPEG command to run in PowerShell to automatically convert all of them.

  • Many computers have enough spare compute power to run the server in addition to the game all on the same system.

I know I'm coming from a position of privilege because I was playing it on a 5950X with 64 gigs of RAM and a 3090, but even so, like it barely even broke a sweat.

  • In Rust you can host your own server, and if you do that on your own local network with nobody else connected, then you have a very large world, with only like a couple of things that can kill you, and you can have a very fun, laid-back, relaxing, you know, builder, simulator, survival thing.

And also Skyrim. I have been trying to complete every single side quest and every single add-on side quest that I can, while basically not advancing the game at all. My current game is easily 40 hours in, and I only recently defeated the first dragon that you can kill as part of the main quest.
