  • Allow me to explain this to you since you seem to be a bit slow.

Thinking all men are bad is an example of a very common stereotype.

  • I think it's largely because of upvotes, likes, followers, etc. Forums didn't have that so people had no reason to appeal to anyone other than the person they were talking to.

  • I will tell you from personal experience it sure makes you feel a certain way when your insurance denies a treatment for a life-threatening condition and that same system says that unnecessary treatments are a fine use of resources.

  • That reality is so incredibly fucked up on a fundamental, physical level.

You're telling me that if I do nothing, my room will get messy, my house will decay, my machines will break down. But somehow matter magically organizes itself into life?

    Fuck all the way off.

  • Never thought I'd agree with Tim Sweeney on anything.

John Carmack has a good take on AI in game dev too.

  • I've never had a single problem with cs-rin and I'd be surprised if the average person ever would.

  • It can't be fixed because violent aggressors are always willing to use more violence than everyone else.

  • Calm down, the dude isn't going to start a holocaust because he called some people NPCs

  • pretty sure you're not meant to take the term that literally.

  • I think there's more good stuff out there than ever, but:

    • We don't have a good search engine to locate it.
    • It's easier than ever to put stuff out there, so it's lower quality on average.
    • People hide their stuff inside discord servers and, increasingly, behind paywalls.
  • I heard a surprise variant popped up at the last minute this year that isn't helped by the vaccine as much. Maybe that has something to do with it

  • They rely on AutoHotkey.

It's true, Linux doesn't have anything close to AHK.

  • I really don't get why you wouldn't just use mint coming from windows. who is making these recs? I only hear "mint! mint!" in my circles

  • ... no mention of whether you got the flu vaccine this year. The most important piece of this puzzle.

  • I miss being able to hear my own thoughts when I go out in nature.

  • I need a wheelchair, so.. yeah

    fuck them tables

  • Every morning my spunkier cat greets me in the bathroom and we quack at each other until one of us gets tired of it.

  • The only way any of this shit could matter is if everyone were on a level playing field.

This vile reality can't even agree that everyone should have working bodies. So forgive me if I think it can go to hell along with everyone who thinks they're all that.

  • 15 years ago, any developer who wanted to install low-level malware on your system would have been rightfully laughed out of the room.

It really shows how tech illiterate the modern user is.

The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people?
