  • Never heard of it! I'll check it out

  • I appreciate this. Why do we have to align only with one approach/perspective? Being versatile is more alluring

  • Useful clarification, thank you. I'm not sure where my vision is at. I definitely do the thing of taking my glasses off and back on depending on what I am doing. But even with them off I'm starting to find some print hard to read — mainly the small print on products. I'll have to see. I'm overdue for a new prescription. Also getting intermittent splotches of white in my periphery so that's a new fun thing to worry about.

Reminders of aging bodies + of capitalism's negative impact on us: this post has not cheered me up today lol

  • I appreciate the clarifications, thanks! Yeah, I agree on that slow creep of vision loss. I've been nearsighted a long time and am now losing my reading distance vision. But I can still read without glasses, and so I do. But it's probably not as sharp, and I suspect that might lead me to read less than I otherwise would

  • I don't understand this statement, tbh. Or the odd antagonism of it. Are you saying all people above the age of 42 need to be wearing progressive glasses?

  • Exactly

  • Apologies, I thought adjustment just related to the frames. Would they be swapping lenses, in this case?

  • Sounds costly. And, at what point do you know they are properly aligned or not?

  • I mean, given all this, how tf is a layperson supposed to get the right product?

  • Lots of TIL in this one

  • Nice, thank you. I just have a Lodge. Haven't had any gripes about it, but curious what difference would come from leveling up

  • What is above Victoria?

  • There's that echo chamber at play

  • I don't remember the recipe, but they put something plus cinnamon in the oven at a low temperature with the door slightly ajar.

I think it might be citrus rinds

  • Yes it is. Because immediately you are faced with having to pick a server. And then grasp and navigate the fediverse, which depending on the use case is not as straightforward. There's generally more hoops to make things happen. Depending on the server you pick, the UI is not all that intuitive. And then you have things like mbin forks which swap terminology.

  • I can see that. Depends on what was shared. Maybe if both options were available. Or an OP can edit the post and redact personally identifiable elements?

  • Part of the problem would be others not knowing if or when a post might be deleted. There might something to the idea mentioned elsewhere of being able to 'disown' a post, so that it's no longer associated with you? (If that's possible)
