I remember struggling so much to get into Inheritence that I gave up, not sure if it was because of the writing or I was still annoyed at the end of Brisingr.
I use either telegram or Bandcamp to get stuff, then beets.io to manage my library, Jellyfin is then pointed to that folder and I mainly use Symfonium to play my music on mobile.
You should look at either jellyfin or plex. Jellyfin doesn't quite have the skip intro feature but it's being worked on, and I think plex has the option to skip intros. Both will autoplay a series though.
