  • My advice, don't "substitute", instead replace.

There are so many delicious healthy options, and all the fake meat substitutes are garbage in comparison.

Eggs are great sources of protein already, so put just about anything on instead. BBC Good Foods is a great resource for easy meals and sandwiches with healthier ingredients if you need ideas.

I've also recently cut way back on processed meats, and honestly have really been enjoying pan fried tofu, chickpeas (seasoned and air fried are amazing), and many other protein sources enough that I've cut a lot of meat out by default.

  • I would not recommend the Gaggiuno. It is now closed source. Instead, I would recommend the Gaggimate, which is open source.

  • Yup! Was so happy when a FOSS Gagguino alternative popped up. Gotta finish building the printer and then on to that.

  • Well, if we’re being meteorologically precise, the “weather” as you experience it at this exact moment is really the culmination of a vast number of interacting variables that are constantly shifting on scales ranging from the microscale—say, the turbulent eddies you might feel swirling around the corner of a building—all the way up to the synoptic scale, which refers to the continental-sized weather systems driven by upper-level dynamics in the troposphere.

At present, the dominant feature influencing local conditions is the interaction between a semi-stationary frontal boundary, which is essentially a transition zone between differing air masses, and the associated baroclinic zone, where horizontal temperature gradients are maximized. This boundary tends to act as a focus for mesoscale convective development, though in your immediate vicinity, that energy seems to be manifesting more in stratiform cloud decks rather than organized convection. The dew point depression values are modest, suggesting that the boundary layer is near saturation, which is why relative humidity feels elevated. Surface observations corroborate this, showing low to moderate cloud cover with occasional breaks depending on diurnal heating and radiative flux.

Meanwhile, if we look aloft at the 500-millibar geopotential height field, we see a weak trough propagating eastward, embedded within a larger quasi-zonal flow pattern. This induces some subtle upward vertical velocity fields via positive vorticity advection, which, if you were inclined to notice, could explain the patchy mid-level cloudiness overhead. At the surface, barometric pressure is trending slightly downward, but not at a rate that would imply rapid cyclogenesis—rather, it’s consistent with the passage of a weak synoptic-scale disturbance.

In short, the weather right now could be described in lay terms as “a little cloudy with some humidity,” but really what you’re feeling is the local manifestation of vast thermodynamic and dynamic processes—everything from latent heat release in distant convective systems to planetary wave modulation in the upper atmosphere. In other words, it’s all very ordinary, but also astonishingly complex when you stop to unpack it.

    Did I normal right?

(No, I did not write all that. I used devil robots.)

  • Baker's dozen here!

  • Are you me?

Except I hate coffee. But am great at brewing/shots by smell. And my partner loves it, so I'm turning our espresso machine into a Gaggimate.

  • Probably more scientifically helpful than an actual chiropractor.

Fun fact, most know chiropractors are pseudo-science, but due to the normalization and regulation in the US, you are much less likely to get permanently injured by one there. But go to any other country and prepare for a lifelong injury.

Or, just stay away from them period like a smart little meat tenderloin.

  • Some suggestions from an older internet rando:

Don't dwell on the past, embrace it.

You worked your way up to a D3 runner, due 100% to your hard work, and despite the adversity of those who didn't believe in you. Look back on that time as a challenge you overcame, and what brought you to the environment you are in today. Congratulations.

Consider telling your parents how you feel.

Right now, they are going around thinking that they pushed you hard, and that pushing is what got you where you are today. They are proud, of you for sure, but also of themselves as parents. Everyone, even your parents have the ability to learn where they were wrong, so consider opening up to them about how you appreciated their honestly, but their methods of delivering it hindered vs helped.

If you decide to do this, treat the conversation like your parents are the children, staying calm and informative, and you might be surprised how "adult" they treat you. And if they don't, their loss.

    Forgive, and move forward.

They did teach you to be reasonable, and try to remember it's unlikely they meant purposeful harm. Regardless of if you discuss it with them, try to recognize it is your life now, and you get to choose how intactions go from here. Good luck in your races!

Note: Also, top tip, start reading research on nutrition. Cycling has completely changed due to advancements in nutritional planning (more money in cycling), and pro runners/trainers are starting to realize this, thus the studies popping up.

  • Red green blue when setting a BG color to remember a layer, but that's it.

  • I informed someone that had recently moved to the area that there was a water main break and you had to boil water. They brought me a jug of water from Walmart as a thanks. Now we are married. Go tell random attractive people.

  • Yea, should say: FDM 3D printing a screw with PLA vertically in vase mode.

But thats a bit long winded.

  • This is not the good kind of competition. Take a look at the other comments hah

  • That FAQ.. This project's devs are so far out of the realm of what a common Lemmy user would want to support.

Take a look at SearXNG, it's run by sane devs, and it's a better project, too.

  • It's a shame things that are exciting as kids become scary as adults, even when they don't need to be. Sure, there can be risks, but we tend to over-exagerate them when we are unfamiliar.

My issue is heights. But only sometimes. Brains are wierd.

  • It you want to try something new that gives you more freedom than the print bed, consider 2020 alluminum extrusion. I'll be doing a custom enclosed rack with it soon, using the printer to make shelves/containers between beams.

  • Haha I backpack/camp, too, and have seen that experience firsthand as well.

  • My one change: I do SSHFS over LAN, because of guest machines and sniffing potential.

I do NFS on direct wire or on a confidently set up VLAN (maybe).
