Of course. Your idea is THE idea. You CANNOT get mass adoption without a minimal amount of hops. You won't get the hordes of pirates running around reading wikis on how to configure their router for piracy and how to get an i2p provider and how to get an index etc.
Torrenting right now is so broadly adopted because you just download a Torrenting client, click the magnet, click OK and you're good to go.
If you HAD to set up port forwarding, some magnet handling register in windows preferences, just those two would stop the bulk majority of pirates. And that's not even 1/4 of what you have to do to use i2p correctly.
i wish to add instances that are not indexed in this db, not possible apparently. I can see that it depends on this API url: https://lemmy.raicuparta.com/communities.json maybe add a customizable api url so that I can set up my own where I clone this api url result & add my own communities?
whenever i set any instance as "preferred" (testing), it adds a new counter to Blocked Instances as can be seen in the image below.
I have and it is slow as fuck to type in it, it is also somewhat slow/overburdened so things take a moment and that annoys me, while Liftoff is very very fast. I much prefer the normal UI to WefWef/Vger due to the speed issues. The UI is also too iphoney but that's a trivial issue.
honestly i kinda like it but it is also a bit messy and buggy, and it also has a lot of things that heavily annoy me into using the website on mobile
the main problem is any time i get a reply, i tap the link to go to the reply and it goes to the post without context, what a mess
i also can't see new comments i post without reloading
idk if they fixed it but b4 i couldn't delete or edit posts/comments which was like ???
i do think it's way better than jerboa for many things, especially for a multi-account user who likes to swap onto other instances a lot. but its room to grow is obviously enormous. I won't try to discredit the devs, this is an amazing app for something so early in the game.
This is the scientific perspective. All signs point to no. But as always, we might have missed something. I think this is the agnostic perspective, even the "agnostic atheist" perspective. I think, and I might be wrong, that the pure "atheist" perspective is that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, there is no God.
But if there's a tiny retarded chance that for some reason there is something as absurd as a god... lol.
atheist faith describes people who BELIEVE that god does not exist
besides the fact that I do exist...
if there is no evidence that god doesn't exist, or that god does exist, then yes, there is no reason to believe god exists, but apart from the absurd and extremely vast absence of evidence that would point towards proving even the slimmest of traces of existence, that is also an epistemological challenge in that our perception is extremely limited and we don't know, as ritswd said, what we don't know.
so we have a lot of evidence, but there exists an extremely small and remote possibility that our theories are wrong, just because we're dumbfucks with very smol brains & tiny eyes that can only see 3 dimensions
so saying with 100% certainty that god does not exist is a dogmatic belief in our conclusions.
Lmao some smaller instances still have fucked front pages but the bigger ones are solved already. You're gonna have to either find a strat that works for you or move around to test stuff.
My tool is bugged, and lemm.ee does defederate instances, so be aware of that and maybe use what my tool uses instead of my tool if you want reliable output :)
Memes evolve in nature with time. We will probably not have memes of the same nature as the memes that happened a decade ago, but memes of a different nature. Find out soon which memes come up after the reddit mass migration and defederation fearmongering craze 😌
