  • I'm still here!

  • 4-6 months. It's frankly too long, but I just don't want to bother...

  • A trick I used was to eat only a certain volume. I had this very reasonably-sized bowl and I'd fill it to the brim (exactly) with food and that would be my lunch for the day. I also always had the same breakfast: a mug of chocolate milk and an apple.

I cut out all snacks and such, and just tried to eat reasonably healthy foods like rice and tuna, and mashed potatoes with veggies, just random stuff that wasn't chips and gummies.

Yeah, it's hard, but you can definitely do it! If you need help and don't have anybody close willing and able to guide you, maybe you could look at getting a nutritionist? Not sure how available that is...

  • Even fries... Well, fries sounds alright, I guess it also depends on the fries.

Good luck on your weight loss!! I lost about 25 kg myself, relatively recently. You can do it!!!!

  • There was actually someone else in the replies with the same confusion lol You're not alone

  • The food looks a little odd, but reasonable. The chocolate is... Someone replied saying chocolate tastes good with savory food, which is true, but IDK about that combo!!

  • You could use Sponsorblock and simply not skip sponsors. Use it to skip interaction reminders or intros, for example.

    It's a very useful extension.

  • Clickbaited by a Lemmy post title... How far have I fallen...

    Good for you, tho!

  • That's not «the benefits of labour» being passed on to your children, is it? That's what you own being passed on to your children... And it's taxed! Maybe it would be a good idea to have taxes on inherited IP, though. Then again, if the taxes are at or above 50% then wouldn't that mean that the state would inherit control over the IP, hence making it public domain? Meh. That would be an estate tax rather than an inheritance tax, technically, I think. How would you pay taxes on inheriting an IP?

  • Because the benefits of labour don't pass on to your children, period?

Maybe there's something out there I'm unaware of, but I don't understand the implication in your question.

  • lmfao what's that?!

  • That's a really tough question...

Is it even worth it? I really hate my job but need the money.

Need the money? If you need it, then that basically settles it. You can't leave your current job if you need the money.

However, the question is moreso if you actually need it. Have you considered downsizing your apartment/wherever you live? Have you considered cutting costs here or there (subscriptions, for example)?

One thing's for sure: your mental health is invaluable. You can't afford to have a mental breakdown, and you don't deserve to live a miserable life.

See if you can restructure your finances to fit the 81k salary, because a low-stress job like that is surely much better than the hellscape you seem to be navigating currently.

One thing to add: don't stop looking for other opportunities. Maybe this one isn't ideal because you may need to cut costs, but there could be something even better out there! Don't stop looking for the perfect opportunity for you.

    Just my opinion, of course.

  • You could most definitely buy some old thing. You could legit buy an iPod, actually, in the 2nd hand market.

Why go modern, when the old stuff is good enough?

  • HA!!!

  • Your mom's ass.

  • Cool!! Will definitely check it out.

  • It's a reference now so removed from the original that it's become more of a Where's Waldo-style game than anything.

  • It's just so over-the-top ridiculous, yet trying to sound so obnoxiously serious. The combination makes for great comedy, IMO.

  • Well, I think of memes as online easily shareable references -- text, images, videos, etc.

My favourite meme is definitely Loss, but I also love that one sniper copypasta.
