Amazon is demonstrably proficient at driving sales through targeted advertising. They practically invented it. One anecdotal counter-example doesnt outweigh that.
Ironically, it was a comment on Lemmy that helped me think about it differently. (I already avoid all other social media.)
Healthy, well-adjusted people do not spend time or mental energy on negative things they cannot control, especially those which are not directly effecting them.
Sure. Or maybe you have a different tolerance. Either way, I dont care. I just expect I wont see the next Amazon thread on Lemmy. Because Lemmy is incapable of discussing the topic in a way I want to engage.
I am not here for an endless flood of negativity and doomerism. When I see it, I block what I think is necessary. I use keyword filters, user blocks, community blocks or occasionally the entire instance.
I know it is hard to imagine other people with lives different than yours, but do try. It might help you understand why they might make choices different from yours.
Making public statements supporting political assassination is frowned on at most places I've worked. That seems reasonable to me for highly paid jobs at a high-profile firm.
I guess I'm glad that means I won't have to work with you.
I put it like this: if you replaced any other part, or even all your other parts with machines, you'd still be (what you think of as) you... because your brain would still be in there.
There is, however, no replacing the brain. If your brain goes, you go with it. You are your brain.
I first had 100 Plus while I was sick as a dog in Yangon and it was at least 38C. The family I was staying with hooked me up with 100Plus. It was like a religious experience.
Walmart.com would likely work fine, as they are rabidly anti-Amazon, especially AWS. They don't even want their SaaS vendors using AWS under the covers for them.
It "works" but isnt perfect. The length matters, but it does work and is the right(ish) length. I don't have the instruments to test it properly.
More, it just isnt very practical because it doesnt work much better than a small whip antenna. I do have a more powerful radio I need to test it on eventually, but it uses the wrong connector for that and I have to buy an adapter
Cheap things from China often have recycled or re-purposed parts. I had an antenna that came apart and is actually a tape measure with some rubber over it just soldered right to a threaded connector.
yeah.. almost.
