I see your point. It's just for me worked couple of times well.
Example: I have hardware Steam Link hooked up to my TV. It had this issue where screen would freeze but game/audio would continue on, but menu would work half a time if not in game. I tried to look up the issue and found no lead. Adding "reddit" didnt help either. Only vague discussions, and dead-end leads.
ChatGPT prompt gave me couple of options where the 2nd option was to disable hardware encoding which fixed my issue.
I went to google same issue right now and still google results on 1st page have nothing about hardware encoding which was an actual fix. 1st link is to reddit where people say hardware encoding didn't help so I disregarded this fix. Others claim that downgrading gpu drivers solve this issue. It didn't.
I'd rather google. But lately quality of results are incredibly low.
I do not find LLMs much great right now. But there been a few instances where googling or searching would yield me no useful results but somehow ChatGPT had a suggestions for problems that I want to solve and it delivered me solutions that actually did work.
Also, there has been couple of times where I had no idea where to start when researching topics of my interests. When trying to post on reddit with a question, these usually come off sort of gate-keeping-like or tried to steer me into direction I didn't want to go. ChatGPT, on the other hand, gave out options. And, since recently, (dunno, in 2021-2022 it wasn't doing so) also gave sources too.
In any case, searching in google without adding "reddit" to a promt 99% of the time gives bullshit options with shit ass quora usually at the top. Who dafuq uses quora? Never found a single useful post there.
Quite obvious even before I've read favoredponcho's comment. Just scraping web to deliver context matching results brings no money. Ads bring money. Case solved

I never got past 3.3.5a due to pirate servers not being really well made for Cata at release and afaik still today they are poorly developed.
I really dig the idea of seamless and stitch-less world map that Cata has introduced. But I also don't dig what WotLK was at the end of the expansion. I think TBC was the last epic time to play WoW. Maybe early WotLK. To me, dungeon finder and easy battlegrounds queue is what made the game less fun. Yeah, now you do not need to /yell in town square looking for some low level dweebs for them to join your party and travel to a far dungeon for half an hour. But that was the fun part, even tho it took time and effort. Mindless parties from queue killed fun. I remember in TBC looking for a party to go to Deadmines and it was an effort. Joining dungeon finder took me a second, but fun was not there.
My cousin began on private servers and then went to official during Cata I believe. Not sure, but I think he is still playing retail as of today. From his words, game became quite fast paced and you can level up really quick in a day. The whole game play was toned down to dungeons, raids and PVP. From outside sources I got the idea that it became like what happened to Diablo 3. Gameplay during story line was nice. But once first expansion dropped with endless rifts, game became - farm better gear in order to be able to farm even more better gear. Mindless farm simulator.
I am nostalgic for the times when players were friendly with each other. Moments like high levels coming to starter zones and giving out gold and gear to newbies. Contacting local chat or guild to find some payers that will help you with a quest. Asking for tips about certain quests. Actual team-play on battlegrounds. But the thing that will never come back is the sense of discovery. It only can be experienced once.
Even as of right now, playing AzerothCore singleplayer mode, I find best time was during leveling lvl1 to 40. Even alone, with bots. Nothing can beat that Elwyn Forest - Westfall - Redridge Mountain - Duskwood zone combo. I got this tearing up/shivers/inner peace feeling every time I hear Elwyn Forest theme. The Barrens are also speaking to me, but I was mostly an Alliance player.
15yo, TBC on a private server. I really loved the game and our small community of 800 players. Quests were broken. World events were broken. Raids and dungeons were broken. But the spirit of the game was there. Never left the server up until it's death.
Maybe playing WoW did influence my grades in school, but WoW was not the only game I have played during late Highschool and early Uni. The wasted time metric is entirely owned by LoL.
Other than that, I've met great people, had a blast and kept some friends and epic memories. So much so, I am running AzerothCore single player modded server of 3.3.5a right now. Memberberries are super tasty with WoW.
Here I went for a rant about how game became worse with each expansion. Rant removed.
Start/Stop system doesn't do anything in these conditions. All it does is that it stops engine when you are stationary. Say, on a red light or in a traffic jam. It will reignite once either you start moving or battery voltage drops below certain point. Other than that, it has no effect either positive or negative in situations you have described.
As a newbie in selfhosting, Immich is what I use almost every day. And it is so good. A literal Google Photos but it's my own. Snappy web app and android app. Has epic face recognition, contextual search and now even text recognition. All that on an efficient and not so powerful N100 cpu. I can totally see why community loves it.
Mine runs on some rockchip and 2gb ram h side drivestor gen2 Nas. Sluggish, but works with no troubles so far. Or is indeed not a hardware hungry I stance if you use it for you yourself and maybe a few family members
Isn't this the same acc from the other day that was Russian apologist?
Nah, man. One must be blind to see that USA is much worse than Russia. Russia is bad if not as bad as USA, we jaut don't talk about it as much when in fact we should.
I have noticed that Microsoft and google are trying to scan my domain for /php-myadmin and similar links that I thankfully do not have.
I had already fail2ban running but it failed to ban a single IP. I did setup custom filters that would ban admin panel scanning attempts but somehow now it also bans my home IP and my phone 5G ip sometimes. No idea how to fix it so far. Also, this filter/jail doesnt necessarily jail everyone attempting to reach these links, just sometimes it does.
I wish to name it in a funny way. But there is a ton of devices that I have connected over the wifi and I dont have enough willpower to reconnect them all once I change the name.
