  • It is just a higher level of abstraction with the overlying ethical principles and morality, like a conversation with an autocrat where their word is law.

  • It is something I have never thought to question.

A citizen in a democracy has a right to all information, and to decide for themselves. Any other system seems in conflict with "ignorance is not an excuse."

How can I know what I am not allowed, or think your proper thoughts before they cross your mind to inform my ignorance.

  • They all have Open AI QKV layers based alignment.

  • They often had seasons off back before the industrial age. Like, war was seasonal. Ya had to return your piece of shits to plant their fields or pick them, but in between, they had time off for pointy pointless things.

  • Shit. I miss Tom Scott too

  • The color schemes of default piefed do not have a very pretty and low power OLED option.

I want the ability to turn off downvote visibility where I can view it with a toggle but not by default. I would make more posts that drive engagement without that negativity.

It would be nice if we had a small semantics model running on the server that could assess the negativity and value of comments with an optional filter for comment visibility. There are relatively few squeaky wheel type users and (likely) bots but they have a disproportionate impact on everyone. Basically, I am saying, a genuine, real person should have an option for a beehaw administered and moderated experience through basic toggles and automaton. Like I want the negative feedback on some things, but there are posts where I know there will be a fraction of toxic people with authoritarian views and I simply do not care what fascists have to say. Or make a simple filter that looks at a voter's statistics overall and drops votes from view when the person is a major outlier for negativity. This is only about enabling good people to post real stuff and be more open. I can only speak from experience, and my history of posts on this and my other main account show that I would post a whole lot more if it were not for the few toxic people and interactions.

  • The point is to get someone that is incorruptible by wealth. Someone that is purely altruistic not out of excess but out of the very fiber of their being. I want someone poor by choice, someone who rejects all the pomp and ritual. Someone that will tell a billionaire no, I will not visit your island or take your gifts, and do so every single time.

  • Anyone that has managed a homeless shelter or soup kitchen for over a decade.

  • Microsoft is a notorious waste of time. They place no value on people over profit and they screw over everything. Most people likely just use emacs and vim for independent stuff, or whatever company junk elsewhere.

  • Computer history museum. – the archive of our age and what shaped it thus far.

I'd like to go to the La Brea tar pits because that holds massive meaning for Earth's living history.

I love the age when people cast engines and machined parts in their middle class neighborhood back yards and alleys; when all motorcycles still had bicycle pedals and were just modified bicycle frames. The way the motorcycle started as nothing more than a velodrome pace bike to replace the 4+ man tandems for leading out certain track events is on clear display in their museum. I wish I lived in an age like that, where people could be far more creative without space and shitty people constraints. I have no place to do metal casting even if I could somehow handle the physical stress of it. I would love to do green sand casting.
