  • I love Stremio it is so simple to use and relatively easy to set up, I like the set it and forget it format it has (and your settings and setup are synced across all the devices you like).

With that said, geek me can't leave aside Kodi for good, I have a Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 and that is where I use it, even when the setup I've for it is somewhat heavy (it makes my Shield struggle sometimes) I love thinkering with it, because... there is fun thinkering right?

My gf does Stremio almost always though.

  • Yeah.. Trakt also started in the enshitification path though (for some it has been there for a while).

  • While using Stremio alone without a debrid service?

I think you do... perhaps not in the healthiest way, but it is something.

  • I am an old pirate and I cringe when people bash debrid services for their pirate pride, honestly it is a life changer if you are willing to switch to fully stream (I still seed the content I gather with the Arr stack for my Plex).

  • The glorified port forwarding issue is even worthless if you are a CGNAT user, and it is 2025 so I'll assume everyone is.

  • Basically dead at this point

For free users though, there are some of us who paid for Lifetime Plex Pass tier a long time ago... I do wonder if Lifetime really means forever though.

  • Agro!

  • And a couple of backups in case it goes down (it goes down sometimes).

  • my instance is federated with them, but I have every single community of theirs I've ever seen blocked now.

Wait, we can instance block nowadays, why going through every community?

  • The day I see a Steam Deck in Walmart in Mexico (my country) is the day I am gonna acknowledge these PC handheld devices as Switch competence (I mention the Deck because it is the only one that I am slightly interested in getting, probably other brands are already there).

  • Pocket Cast, because it is the only option to have my queue synced along all my Android, iOS and even Alexa devices (I don't pay the subscription so I am missing out on the desktop and website ones), if there is an alternative for it, please enlighten me.

  • Probably the same steps you'd need to if you use Plex and are CGNATED (thanks CGNAT for teaching me basic networking).

  • You know all the certs and security and port stuff you need to do? Plex does that. You just download the app, point it at your folders with media, and you’re all set both at your home and beyond it.

I am just gonna read your comment until here, Plex does shit if you are CGNATED, and as it is 2025 I suppose most users are, I still needed to expose through IPv6 with a reverse proxy, using a VPS or a VPN to access my Plex Server, so yeah, Plex hasn't helped me at all since many years ago with the noob friendly approach they have.

EDIT: Oh and their relay feature is garbage, even for Plex Pass users, and I happen to be a lifetime one.

  • Yeah that is what I said "cheap" too, it doesn't matter how cheap the NSO is, the games won't keep in your account if you stop paying, thus they are never really yours.

The best approach was the Virtual Console, but it was dumb that they never respected your previous purchases.

  • Outstanding even in today's days!

  • Or maybe not.

  • I don't think I get your question?

What I can tell you is that BOTW and TOTK can get more than 30 FPS once the unit is hacked and overclocked...

If the question is about the Steam Deck I am afraid I can't answer, I don't have one.

  • I haven't tried since I am still stuck at the ending of BOTW, but the guide I followed to get 60 FPS with it said TOTK would be not much different, which is reassuring to me.

Definitely the consoles/handhelds improve their real potential once they're hacked!

  • That’s better FPS than the 15-30(max) it gets on the switch.

That is why the best way to play the Zelda games in original hardware is with a Switch hacked and overclocked, I get close to 60 FPS in many areas (60 in closed areas) and even 40 is a big improvement over 30 lol.

If I had a beefy PC I'd definitely check them out at 120 FPS though.
