  • Doctor Who.

  • Companies dont really need to know where you are. They just need to know where you aren't. If you are not within a certain threshold of response time to certain cdn servers, then its reasonable to assume that you are outside their contractually obligated broadcast region.

  • This would just end up being Facebook in the long run.

  • I have to take a first aid course every two years for work. The more I take it, the more determined I am to NEVER use any of it.

The course has gone from "Here's a few things you can do to help someone who is injured or choking" to "Here's how to fuck up your life and make what's left of theirs even worse".

The first aid course has pretty much scared me off of ever trying to help somebody beyond calling for help.

  • Jesus' instructions on divorce are pretty unJesus like.

Slightly off topic but DAE find it convenient that Jesus' first lecture to his new disciples was about divorce? Like hey, guys. Forget fishing and making money and handling business, and dont worry about your wives anymore.

  • Superman probably pays more in taxes than Batman.

  • These days I only go on facebook for marketplace and a few community groups.

  • but they have to prove their need

No. They should have to prove their competency. Need is too easy to dispute. We dont get to dictate why someone needs a gun any more than why they need a car. If they want one, have the means, and demonstrate compliance with safety guidelines, then they shouldn't be denied. Canada handles this fairly well.

School shootings demonstrate why some people should absolutely be denied access to guns.

The current US political situation demonstrates why more people should arm themselves.

  • Freeze it. Toast as needed.

  • How different is it from WTYP?

  • Starch. This limits what I can eat. Unfortunately I didn't know this growing up, so I ate a pretty carb heavy diet which caused health issues which caused me to be grouchy a lot. Took until I nearly 40 to figure out that I wasn't just an unstable asshole.

  • If you use Windows, I highly recommend trying Mobaxterm.

  • Not as long form as they usually max out around an hour. Good enough for walking dogs.

    New Rock Stars.

    Dark Net Diaries.

    Star Talk.

Beyond Trust has a podcost interviewing tech people.

  • Their episode about Y2K hooked me.

  • It made everything clear back when everything was hand written or done on a type writer. This mattered as paper wasn't infinite.

Much of modern communication is done in bubbles on screens, so the punctuation doesnt matter as much as it used to.

That said, run-on sentences and word salad are quite common which makes for some entertaining yet stroke inducing screenshots.

The so-called "rules" of language arent actually rules. They are observations. Language use has greatly evolved over time, and schools teach the rules as they know them, forgetting that even a hundred years ago, it was different.

  • I got Mobaxterm. Does the job and doesn't need to be natt'd.

  • Had this conversation with my boss yesterday. They cant use Azure mdm with Linux it's a no go.

  • Not everyone thinks "society" is a goal.
